The team isn't getting serious about the offensive line. They should be planning the acquisition of their next franchise QB now.

This team WILL NOT win a fucking thing without drastically upgrading the offensive line.

Time to blow this bitch up and rebuild now.

Those "woes" lasted a few seasons at most.

Compared to most franchises, our record of QB success is pretty damn good.

Meredith, Morton, Staubach, White, Aikman & Romo make up the majority of our franchise's existance. The Steve Pelluer's, Q Bongs and Vinny's arnt much of our history.
FFS. It's worse than we all thought.

How many of those you listed can be attributed to Jerry Jones? And how many shit QBs has Jerry brought in here?

The draft this year doesn't have a single QB I'd take over a O Lineman over. Get the lines straight. And as the Pattys have proven, it won't matter who you put back there at QB.

Ironically the only qb you can really put on jerry and his hired front office is romo.

they didn't find aikman, he was the frigging first pick. A lot of scouts here then from landry/brandt's people and they were set to take aikman had landry come back.

But have no fear, get rid of that loser romo and jerry, Stephen and ciskowski will know exactly where to get a franchise qb.....

Wait, this is a trick, isn't it? Jerry? That was Bill.

Actually, the scout who did all the work on him is probably most deserving, then of course Payton.

Once he is at practice though that is on the staff to figure out how to get him to maximize his talent.

Anyone remember that scouts name, it slips my mind at the moment.

Edit: the scout was Jim Hess.

I forget all the details, but Jerry was going to have to cut Romo if his golden boy QCar hadn't been a pothead right?

Yes.

Carter, Testeverde, and we had our "project" in Drew Henson.

Aikman looked at Jerry and said "You know what you have to do" after watching Henson work out.

No way Romo makes that team.

Yep.

And if u remember listening to parcells in late 05 there was some rumbling after Bledsoe played terrible against the giants in tat 10-7 loss in December that the season was toast and it was time to insert romo and see what he could do. Paerells was mum on that. Then we beat the chiefs and the talk died down(1of my favorite games) then Bledsoe and the team were awful against Washington, then turned around and beat a good Carolina team. Needing the eagles to beat the redskins for our game to mean anything in the final week the talk was about playing romo again, parcells was mum again.

In the summer of 06 parcells had dropped hints that he was leaning towards romo but Jerry was holding it up.......then at camp parcells buddy Peter king dropped the bomb that romo could take over early in the season, that was parcells putting it out to the nfl world thus is the guy I want to play but can't right now.

Then when romo finally played and after the panthers win parcells flat out said it..."I had to show Jerry romo could do this" he went on about that is why romo played so much in camp because he was trying to show Jerry romo can do this.

Jerry talked up Bledsoe a ton going into 06 because of the addition of his pet cat Owens. No way Jerry gave Owens money so a rookie ish qb could blow it.

Jerry never believed in romo because be has no football instincts or ability to identify talent. He thought giving a two meant Henson was the better player.

Anyway, this is the forecast for the future when everyone gets what they want and that "loser" romo is cut.

Jerry will talk about young guys in public to ease the fans, then insert a retread veteran.

Ah, but he preferred Ware over Merriman, so all of his personnel sins are forgiven.

^^^

That's a fuckin great post man.

Its also someewhat b/s.

He wants people to believe that Parcells had enough pull to make sure Vinny started virtualy all of 2004, but he didnt have enough pull to bench Bledsoe if he had wanted to? Parcells was the sole reason Bledsoe was in Dallas to begin with.

Parcells didnt bench Bledsoe sooner because he loved the guy and like with many of his guys, was loyal to a fault. The idea that Jones somehow had input on who was starting (or not) is laughable when parcells was here.

Romo should have in fact, beaten out Bledsoe in training camp/preseason that year.

That was about money. 100% money.

Jerry and Stephen took bill out of the war room and into a private room and explained to him that merriman was a holdout in the making. He was represented by the postons and Jerry has gone out if his way through the years to avoid holdouts. He used to agree to deals before we drafted guys or he wouldn't take them.

As broaddus told it, as soon as it was evident merriman would miss ota's and part of camp he agreed to ware.

Do u even think before u post ever?

2004? What? The starting qb got cut at camp for drug issues....at that point who did u want playing qb in 04? He put Henson in and the guy was terrible, so to protect Henson he took him out.

Parcells was not high on Bledsoe going into 06. Go back and listen to those post game shows and whatever else u can find. He was trying to get romo ready and convince Jerry as quickly as he could.

Ftr romo did beat out Bledsoe that camp.

I find it hard to believe that they would pass on Merriman if they thought he was the superior prospect. Jerry and Stephen had dealt with difficult agents before. Never stopped them from winning.
