    Who you got? Week 4

I don't hate the Cowboys' chances of scoring an upset, but I gotta go with the Saints in this one.

Sturm: Cowboys snag Claiborn, but at what cost?

It sucks that this thread was bumped instead of the one in which I wisely predicted the future.

Claiborne biggest bust in Cowboys history

Morton was really good ... particularly before a (right) shoulder surgery. He was no Staubach, but few were/are. The Giants sucked mightily when Morton arrived ... no QB would have had much chance of success there in those days. One unusual aspect of the trade that sent Morton to NY .... it...

Claiborne biggest bust in Cowboys history

Yeah, as things stand today, Noonan is the only one who comes close. Craig Morton was a very good pick in my opinion. He was neck and neck with Staubach for a good while. Morton's NFL career lasted 18 years.

Claiborne biggest bust in Cowboys history

I'm no fan of Mo, but it was Jerry and company who decided to put too many chips on the table as they gambled on Claiborne. Claiborne isn't a great player, but it isn't his fault that Jerry and company misappropriated a 1st and 2nd draft choice on an underwhelming player.

Goodell: Should he stay or go?

So as I'm driving to work today, the NFL's new "Vice President for Social Responsibility" was being interviewed. Vice President for Social Responsibility?!?!?!?

Goodell: Should he stay or go?

I think it is weird that the NFL is now expected to be in the morality business. IMO, the NFL should police players on those things that potentially impact the integrity of the game (such as performance enhancing drugs and gambling on football), but I'd be fine if the NFL did not suspend or...

A 'stronger' Tony Romo shows up vs. Rams

It was widely reported that Ryan Shazier would have been the pick had he not gone to the Steelers just before. http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/latest-news/2014/5/9/5698064/agent-of-ryan-shazier-was-on-the-phone-with-cowboys-when-steelers

A 'stronger' Tony Romo shows up vs. Rams

That's him! Exactly. The draft broke the wrong way for 1st round value pick on defense.

A 'stronger' Tony Romo shows up vs. Rams

Costa ... geeze. Who was the Guard drafted by the Cowboys from a small school ... his technique was apparently good but he just never got strong enough. I forget is name. Garrett seemed to like him, but the guy just never developed and so he was cut.

Cowboys defense not pleased with showing

There aren't many rookie CBs who are worth a 1st and 2nd round draft pick. The failure/disappointment rate of high draft choices is too high to merit investing that much in almost any player.

A 'stronger' Tony Romo shows up vs. Rams

OL picked in the later rounds can develop into fine players, no doubt, but generally they need at least a year in an NFL weight room before they are ready to play. Rookies who are seen as ready to step in on Day 1 are picked early. If the plan is to pencil in a rookie to start in Martin's...

No mo Mo. The interception doesn't make up for how poorly he played.

    McClain

I agree. Especially on Murray. I think he's a good back, but not so difficult to replace.

    McClain

It could be that Jerry's people have had so much experience with "headcases" that the organization has become pretty good at helping out the players who need extra support. .... it certainly looks like they helped Dez mature .... McClain seems to feel fortunate and respected. Here's hoping...

DMN - 5 thoughts: DeMarco Murray carries Dallas in recipe to contend for playoffs

For the past several years I've been hoping that the Cowboys would get some premium OL and implement exactly the sort of game plan / game management that we saw yesterday. I'm looking forward to seeing what Ryan Williams might do in such an offense. It seems inevitable that someone will get...

    2014 wk 1: Cowboys vs 49ers

Yeah, this one is a new low. It isn't like he was pressing it due to necessity or going for broke in desperation time. It was the first half of a ballgame and he had the support of a very solid running game. I don't think he's ever looked worse.
