Dez Hoping Teams Continue To Show Williams Disrespect

Right. This trade is probably second only to the 2010 trade with the Patriots (leading to the Dez Bryant pick) in terms of top post-Jimmy era trades. The 2007 trade with the Eagles (leading to the Anthony Spencer pick) was a good one too. Obviously the list of bad trades would be much longer.

Thread: Who you got? Week 5

You have a point, but the counterargument probably would be that Garrett isn't necessarily focusing on bringing in choirboys (i.e., squeaky clean players who never get into trouble), but players who are serious about and/or are passionate about the game. I'd think that Garrett would regard...

'The Hitch' returns - Dallas O-Line used it in Victory formation last night

I'm with you on the OL. You could be right about it not coming across as rubbing it in. Either way, I'm for it. Yes, plus they didn't really do it in unison. And whoever was lined up on the far left of the line (Witten?) gave half-hearted effort. It'd be nice to think that we'll see this...

'The Hitch' returns - Dallas O-Line used it in Victory formation last night

Thread: Who you got? Week 5

In recent years this game would be a loss -- to prevent the team from straying too far from .500. This year it is a win. (I hope)

    Tap the Brakes

I think there is something to this. I really like that play-calling of Linehan. By all appearances, Marinelli is doing a fine job. And even if things didn't work out for Callahan as a true offensive coordinator, at some he should get some credit for working with the young puppies on the OL...

    Need A Better Complimentary RB

Anyone here unconvinced that Dunbar merits an active roster spot? He's supposed to add a new/different facet to the offense, but he doesn't get many touches and it doesn't seem like the offense particularly needs what Dunbar brings. I'd like to see what Ryan Williams could do behind this OL.

    Claiborne out for season.

CB Micah Pellerin is on the practice squad. I wonder if he'll be called up or if the Cowboys will take a CB from another team's practice squad.

    Tap the Brakes

There is reason for guarded optimism, even if the Saints aren't what they used to be. My bar isn't very high. If the team managed to sneak into the playoffs and win a Wild Card playoff game, I'd consider it a successful season.

'The Hitch' returns - Dallas O-Line used it in Victory formation last night

That's a great touch! So nice to see it. Damn, this team is trying to get me to like them again ....

Liked what I saw out of Vikings rookie Bridgewater

I didn't see Bridgewater, but I did see Blake Bortles and he looked very capable and sharp. Too bad for Bortles that he doesn't have much of a supporting cast. He's in a challenging situation.

This Dallas Cowboys defense is different

Right, the blind squirrel.... McClain seems to be a uniquely talent player. In terms of raw physical talent, I'm beginning to think that he's one of the most talented that Cowboys have ever had at his position.

This Dallas Cowboys defense is different

Right. And having the support of a more reliable offense that's capable of ball control makes life much easier too.

Jason Garrett: 'We believe in what we do'

I find it very encouraging that the Cowboys are now willing and able to run against defenses that are stacked to prevent the run. This is a huge game-changer.

This Dallas Cowboys defense is different

It is a sad statement, but not nearly as sad as what this defense would be without him. After making so many shaky / ill conceived low probability moves over the years (e.g. Pacman, Tank Johnson, etc. etc.), it would be nice to think that Jerry finally had one pay off in a major way.

Tony Romo: Offense 'most complete' he's been around

Isn't it obvious that the much improved OL is making a huge difference? ... really, the critical difference? Going into this season, I thought Witten was past his prime, but clearly I was wrong ... he's been truly outstanding. I don't know if he needed this kind of season at this stage of his...

NFL Week #4: TNF | New Orleans Saints (1-2) @ Dallas Cowboys (2-1)

The cool thing is that the OL will most likely only get better as the season goes on ... as they get more used to playing together and as the newest addition(s) gain more experience.

He's a good player. I expect that he'll be a quality addition to the DL rotation as the season closes.

Cowlishaw: Shenanigans aside, Morris Claiborne was cursed on Day 1 in Dallas

Right, this happens all of the time. Jerry's verbal diarrhea was pretty extreme with Claiborne, though.

Goodell: Should he stay or go?

That's a valid concern, but I think he's clearly a victim of his own miscalculations and hubris. If Goodell wanted the NFL to be America's Moral Police (a dumb move IMO), he could have done it much better. It was pretty dumb for him to set himself up as the judge, jury, and executioner...
