    That's true ... most high picks that washed out will end up washing out again. But if 10% of these guys defy the odds and end up contributing, maybe it is still worth it -- so long as next to nothing has been invested and the distraction factor is minimized.

    Yeah, he was pretty full of himself while covering Williams a few days ago. Seems like everyone says that Claiborne's strength is man-to-man coverage. It'd be nice if the new DC found a way to play to Claiborne's strengths more often.

    Factoid: Williams was cut after Mendenhall retired. (Clearly the Cardinals weren't counting on Williams becoming a contributor.) I am looking forward to seeing Williams play this preseason. I heard Steve Dennis go on about how Williams is a high quality power back, so I'm curious.

    After 3 consecutive 8-8 seasons, it is sort of stupid to predict that the Cowboys will be extremely good or extremely bad this year. If Garrett has proven nothing else, he's certainly shown that he knows how to keep a bus rolling in the middle lane.
