Interesting. There's certainly the Aaron Whitecotton connection. MLB Quincy Williams could potentially be part of this deal too, another Whitecotton favorite form his Jets days.

If we spend a first round pick, I'm going to be pissed....super pissed. No doubt a big issue is the talent on D. But the DC and his scheme are the primary culprit, IMO.

It depends for me on what we give up/get.

If it's a good player under contract for several yrs, it's not a bad idea. GB's pick is going to be late and ours is likely to be middle of the pack. If you are getting a high end player that you control for awhile, thats pretty smart.

Now if they give away a 1st and 3rd and the guy is a half season rental, that's stupid.

In regards to Wilson, he was a really nice pick the yr he came out of the draft (early 3rd rd pick) and he has nize size for a 4-3 MLB (6'2, 245ish)

And he did develop into a really quality starter. He had 4 straight seasons with well over 100 tackles and a knack for making plays on the football (4 interceptions in two different seasons, which is good for a 4-3 MLB)

That said, he started to tail off last yr and had no picks and only 1 pass defensed for the season, he did pass 100 tackles in only 11 games, but it seems he has lost some of that range he had from 2021-2023. He was benched in favor or a rookie a few weeks ago but has continued to see some playing time.

For a 7th rd pick it's not a bad deal, but he isn't going to make much of a difference with how bad this defense is. He's better than Murray and the now IR'd Sanborn, but that's saying nothing.

The trade is smallball but that's fine. SO glad didn't give up more for a falloff guy.

Logan Wilson, meh... hopefully he'll help. There's an awful lot of hope being put into Overshown's return.

Sauce Gardner got traded to the Colts. That's huge.

They got basically the same thing we got for Parsons (although Kenny Clark is a much better player than the WR they received and Packers had to eat a bunch of money for Clark)
