Well, another season gone. I had no expression when the game ended because of the same disappointment year in and year out. 26 years and counting. This loss was an organizational failure.
I know I am expressing the same issues as other posters over and over:
Hire a staff who believes in discipline, high Football IQ, mental toughness, accountability, fundamentals (a little better this season but needs improving), developing a killer instinct, buildIng a Championship culture instead of the Country Club one that we currently have.
Rebuild the OLine. We are not the best anymore.
Employ a 3 RB rotation (at least explore it).
I know that the Jones family are not going anywhere, but could someone get the balls to convince Jerry to hire a personnel/football knowledgeable General Manager?

What's the plan for this organization to achieve number 6 and beyond? The same plan for the last 26 years isn't getting the job done. Our fan base deserves so much more.

Jerry sounds pissed and rightfully so.

Maybe we will have an awakening tomorrow morning and have our own version of black Monday where every motherfucking coach gets fired!

I doubt it, but we can hope

As I get older, I recover from losses, even playoff losses, pretty quickly. After about 10 minutes last night, I was over it. It is what it is.

If anyone at the end of last season would have told us we'd be 12 and 5 and NFC East Champs with a much improved D, some legit playmakers on D, a ROTY and DPOTY front runner, we'd all be ecstatic. Even more so with a QB coming off a devastating injury.

In most normal circumstances, a team would be on an upwards trajectory. Unfortunately, we're not. So I just have to wait a few years for the team to rebuild, potentially find a new QB, train that QB and hope he's the one. Or rinse and repeat. There's not an NFC East team that can challenge us at this point so we'll most probably be right back in this situation next year.

While true, I do think there was enough talent there to win at least one, and probably should have won two playoff games. Especially with this one at home and ESPECIALLY after the Niners lost their best defensive player late in the 1st half.

There were no 2nd half offensive adjustments and if there were, they didn't work (again). The defense still cant stop the run or rush the passer with any real consistency. I don't know what the answer is with the penalties but something has to be done, and then there's that debacle of the end of the game.

Jones likes to say now that he made a mistake giving up on Chan Gailey after only two seasons, but that was not true. Gailey was a lousy HC and his offensive system got figured out in a hurry, he had to go. The problem was the person he hired to replace him and the fact that at that time, Jones was the meddler supreme in everything.

After what we saw the 2nd half of this year and yesterday, they should move on from McCarthy but they have to concentrate on getting the RIGHT person in there. If it's Kellen Moore it'll be a massive failure.

I saw the comments in pregame that the Niners were actually expecting to see quite a bit of Pollard in teh game, and then they didnt.

Again, I don't know how much difference he would have made because the OL play was really bad again, but they could have maybe found other ways to try and get him the ball.

That said, the Niners glaring weakness on D is their secondary, and you attack a secondary with WR's and TE's. Unfortunately, our OL pass blocked poorly and even when he did have time, Prescott too many times made poor throws or bad reads.

Hopefully they are all wrong, but FWIW LaConfora is reporting again this morning that several people within the league believe Jones is going to fire McCarthy and name Moore HC

Our 14 penalties last night tied the all time record for most penalties in a playoff game in NFL History

Make your call now-

1) We get the ball and go 3 and out, maybe with a 3rd down sack to end possession

or

2) Niners get the ball and drive 75 yards in 10 plays, score TD

I still cant believe BOTH of these things happened. It was supposed to be EITHER/OR

You first have to get a TD or even get close enough for him to attempt a FG to give him a chance to miss one, or two, or three….

Good morning football is destroying last nights game.

They are calling out MM, Kellen Moore, Dak, the penalties, the play calls, the screw ups, and pretty much everything that went wrong.

Peter says before they cut away

“They have been one mistake after another this season…..This is the Cowboys, it’s who they have been for 25 years” “you’re gone, good bye”

I wish I could see Jerry’s face when he sees that segment
