As of Sunday, San Bernardino County estimated that it had made nearly 80% of county-maintained roads in the area passable, meaning that at least one lane was open. But the county noted that state and county plows are not allowed onto private property and residents will have to call in contractors to do those jobs.

This Afternoon and Tonight.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop today with a severe
threat this afternoon and evening. Large hail (greater than golf ball
size) will be the main threat with initial storm development. As a
cold front approaches late this afternoon, a damaging wind threat
will increase. There will also be a potential for tornadoes into the
evening hours.
Strong winds will spread into the region behind the cold front this
evening with wind gusts up to 45 mph.

So I have lived in Los Angeles for over 50 years.
But last night was a first.
We had a tornado touch down less than 8 miles from my house. It ripped roofs off buildings, tore buildings apart, and uprooted trees.
I do not ever remember having a tornado in SoCal before. Let alone one touch down less than 8 miles away.
