Build first, ask questions later: Trump’s ballroom puts Supreme Court in a bind
Two lower court federal judges ruling against Trump means nothing. Democrats shopped for 2 courts where they knew they would get TDS suffering judges. The Supreme Court has in the past thrown out similar cases ruled on by liberal lower courts judges.
In this case, I don't see where the requirement is for congress to approve this construction. It is privately funded so there is no need for congress to allocate public funds, and the president does have the authority over the executive branch which I assume includes his own residence.
Democrats fighting to stop the construction of the ball room is just another example of how they only have one platform - get Trump. As the administration has stated many times, the fact that we do not have a ball room other than tents that cost millions to store and erect when needed is a national embarrassment. Maybe Trump could have built something a little less,,,Trumpish, but the need for such a building is without question I think. And by building it with private donations, it saves us all a tiny bit of tax money.
