I am pretty sure I heard Jerry say that the amount of GUARANTEED money he offered Micah is MORE than what Micah just got from the Packers.

Did anyone else hear that?
Yeah I think that's what he said. And Parsons had very publicly stated numerous times he "didnt need to be the highest paid defensive player" when all along, that's all he cared about. He was an absolute poster child for a team "cancer"

1) Lied to the public
2) Lied to Jones and reneged on a handshake deal over general terms and money
3) Refused to practice in camp
4) Made up a fake injury to avoid fines
5) Walked into a game (not in uniform either) eating a plate of nachos and then laid down on a table and went to sleep during said game
6) doubled down publicly on fake injury claiming he needed a 2nd opinion (which wasnt true, he went to GB for a physical)
7) miraculously is cured and will be 100% for week one after trade and massive new contract

I honestly have zero problems with them trading him. They had to do it.

They just needed to get more in return.

i would say that he has a higher chance of fucking off in dallas than anywhere else in the world. the only thing stopping parsons in GB is injury
plenty of players "get paid" elsewhere and fall off the face of the earth after doing so...he certainly seems like he could be one of those types to me

Parsons strikes me as someone that needs hard, kick in the ass coaching to really maximize what he could and should be...I don't think Matt Lafleur is that type of guy, but maybe I'm wrong

It's interesting he put that up (if its in relation to the Parsons news, am assuming it is).

Ware has been somewhat critical of Parsons in the past, including recently saying "if I were a coach on this team he would not be doing those podcasts"

reading this you would think that lying down on a table when you're supposed to be working is almost as bad as punching a toddler in the face

GB is getting screwed not us. Parsons gonna slack way off now that he got the big bag you watch. He doesn't have any character.
There's certainly a chance that could happen, like I said in another post he does strike me as someone that is all about the money and personal media hype more than anything else...and there were murmurs even back at Penn State that he wasn't exactly a "team guy"

That said, they have some good talent on defense around him, their front 7 appears to be really good. E Cooper already looks like a star. Rashan Gary is a really good player, Devonte Wyatt has been inconsistent but has talent. Quay Walker is a good player. Xavier McKinny is a good safety and is coming off his best yr. Parsons is probably set up to be a pretty big impact player for them.

I wouldnt have traded him to them and if I HAD to do it I would have certainly made them pay more for him. Beyond tht, I dont give two shits anymore. He had to go.

He went to sleep on a table during the game...you just don't do this shit...it's embarrassing and shows tremendous disrespect for the team, coaches and the fans too. Coaches like Jimmy or Parcells would have broken his fucking legs off over a stunt like that.

All these pundits expressing their shock and surprise meanwhile we were here calling for trading Parsons back in February if not earlier. Then we were clamoring for it all off-season and preseason. And was anyone here really shocked when it happened?

I admit I was a bit surprised but only because this type of bold move just has never been Jerruh.

We have two first round picks next year and the year after. We have a pro bowl run stopper. I'm not going to panic let's let the hand play out. Jerruh took a big gamble. But it had to be done. You simply can't let that guy wear the star again after all he has said and done.

I'm reasonably sure if I laid down on a table and went to sleep during an important meeting or sales presentation (with my fucking CEO present) I'd get shitcanned within 24 hours

Look guys.....Do I wish Parsons had gone to another team that gave us a shot at picking higher? Absolutely. Do I wish we had gotten more in terms of players and/or draft picks....100%. But this team is going to be what it is with or without Parsons. If the guy under center plays well, this team has a chance. That's the case with or without Micah. If Mich was still here and played well but the QB sucked balls....then we'd lose. It's really that simple. I only wish Jerry would have pulled this trigger with Dak.

There came a point that Parsons became a diva and a cancer. I wouldn't want to give him that money either and as much as I dislike Jones, he always overpays. It wouldn't surprise me if there was more to the story and Micah was causing some issues in the locker room when he was here.

About the only thing Parsons offered was flashes of generational talent on Sundays that we could watch in our misery while #4 dink and dunks his way to a punt. But that's simply not enough. This team, or lack there of, is Jerry's creation. His spawn will run it when he's gone. And the spawn's spawn after that. This franchise is a joke, with or without Micah.
Well said.

I do think there is something to the bolded part.

if this defense sucks with parsons, you shuffle the other 10 starters. you dont trade the guy thats on the path to becoming LT

lots of players have attitudes, but you need to find a way to make it work. he is a top 5 player on defense in the league.
Like Dodger said, we werent doing anything with him here anyway. He had chances to do more in important games (like the playoffs) and didnt. None of them did.

We've been shuffling players and coaches for 30 years and the results have basically been no different. There's only one constant.

You're making too much of the training table. Yes, it was a bad look, but it doesn't justify trading a generational talent for pennies on the dollar. We're in this mess because he needlessly antagonized Micah and his agent. Other players have done way worse (Haley throwing the helmet and punching a Cowboys trainer) and continued to play for Jerry.

Haley was a real leader and had skins on the wall (ie, rings) and a rep for showing up big in big games.

Haley never would have pulled the shit Parsons did with Jimmy.

That said, I don't disagree at all that we didn't get enough in picks back. Jones blew that part of it. I do think Kenny Clark will be an improvement over the other recent 1T's we've rolled out there though and I bet Odiggy has his best season yet if Clark stays healthy.

It's not just the table or the optics. He reneged on a handshake. We've listed the entire litany. Disappears in big games/postseason games instead of stepping up. And on and on.

That said, Parsons isn't for everyone. Dak, CeeDee, Zack Martin were wildly popular in the locker room when they went thru contract disputes. It's different, for better/worse, with Micah.

My sense is the length of the deal Dallas offered was an issue for Parsons.

Post-Parsons, and DeMarcus Lawrence, Dallas actually feels good abut rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku, Sam Williams and Dante Fowler have looked good.

During camp, Parsons has participated in walkthrus and workouts, but no practices. He's been GREAT in meetings, but ...

... When the cameras are on, or ownership is around, folks have noticed a difference in his behavior. • The Cowboys really did need a stout run-stuffing DT. Kenny Clark, the consummate pro, gives them that. • Packers kept 6 DTs—a sign of how they see their depth at that stop ...

That's not to say they won't miss Clark. He's LOVED by everyone there. The feeling is this opportunity was too much to pass on. But losing him is a gutpunch for a lot of folks. We'll have more on this at
@theMMQB
over the next few days.
