I cannot believe all the noise about this ballroom. I think we all know that the uproar is only because it is Trump, otherwise everyone would think it is a good idea and long overdue. Maybe we can argue about the design, and the price tag, but otherwise the project makes sense.

Today, the East Room of the White House seats only about 200 people. For larger dinners and banquets a 90,000 sq. ft. tent is erected. The tent comes with flooring and all other amenities that come with a typical ballroom, but it costs a few million to set up, take down.

For a country as rich as the US, it is silly to rent a tent over and over. Why not build a ballroom for such occasions? Trump isn't even using taxpayer funding so in essence it is a gift to the country.

Some Democrats are suggesting that when a Democrat is elected president again, we should tear it down and rebuild the old East Wing, and presumably go back to renting tents. These people are so retarded it is not funny.

But the real outrage will come when the new ball room is officially named the Trump Ballroom. Heads will explode.

Hasn't happened.

So the letter to these homeowners isn't enough? You're in Texas that probably used to be Mexico. I'd bet if you received a letter like that you'd be livid and I'd give dbair a thumbs up if he told you "hasn't happened."

You said we were talking about seizing property and correctly, I reminded you it hasn't happened. I don't give a shit what letters Canadian citizens get.

In Texas we dealt with all the postwar Spanish land claims. The difference here is this is territory won by war, by force of arms with mutual formal declaration and ended by treaty and border agreement. Additionally, we're all armed as we choose here in the US.

That's not what we were originally talking about. You called it fake news BS. It's not. The only inaccuracy is the number of people affected but the issue is the same. And if you really want to compare the post war early 1830's to today when these liberals and native land grabbers get traction, then you're way off........

In any event, no one wants your tumbleweed garden anyway.
