The amendment would change the law so it would no longer be illegal for women to perform their own abortions for any reason, including sex-selective purposes, and at any point up to and during birth, likely leading to a significant increase in the number of women performing dangerous late-term abortions at home.
This would likely lead to the lives of many more women being endangered because of the risks involved with ‘DIY’ late-term abortions and also tragically lead to an increased number of viable babies’ lives being ended well beyond the 24-week abortion time limit and beyond the point at which they would be able to survive outside the womb.

After reading the dissenting opinion of the 3 liberal justices, I am even more convinced they are all idiots. For one thing, they seem to not understand the difference between adults making decisions and minors, as this bill addresses only minors having transition treatments. But why not lie? It is the same tactic they use when discussing illegal immigration. They ignore the illegal part and just call them immigrants as if the president is deporting legal immigrants.
Sotomayor claims not allowing children to have permanent mutilating surgery is the same as the racial discrimination blacks faced in the deep south. It is moronic logic like this that makes the 3 liberals the dumbest justices we have seen on the SCOTUS in our history.
In the meantime, Clarence Thomas, once again, lays it all out like a justice should. He starts by writing that expert witnesses do not countermand laws enacted by elected officials. The law is the law and laws can only be defeated in court if they violate the constitution. Then he slays the so-called experts arguing they have been wrong on this and many other topics. He argues that there is no consensus among experts that transitioning kids is the best form of treatment. Sticking to the facts instead of using nonsense, is always a stronger argument.
