When I was in college back in the 80's, I got pulled over for speeding after drinking 2 beers an hour before. He smelled the alcohol on my breath and started a field sobriety test. I was passing everything until he asked me to say the alphabet. At the time I was pledged to a fraternity and all pledges were asked to say the Greek alphabet about 20-30 times a day by the active members. It had become automatic for me to spout of the Greek alphabet at the slightest command to say the alphabet. So when he asked me to say it, I immediately started Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, etc.... Next thing I know I am handcuffed and taking a trip downtown for a breathalyzer. I ended up blowing a 0.08. Luckily the limit was still 0.1 back them. Had that happened today I would have a DWI.
To this day I know the Greek alphabet by heart due to saying so many damn times.
