Indoor HDTV antennas

Anybody have any preferences/advice for the best options?

I have one now on my TV upstairs, it was around $50 bucks or so and for some local stations does fine, but it also doesn't get consistent reception (lot of pixeling) and I have to "move it" around alot depending on whether I want CBS, NBC, ABC or FOX.

Outdoor antenna isnt an option, so it has to be an indoor one.

I have mine mounted inside and I get 35 local channels without having to move it. Achieved by having the TV "find" the channels then move antenna slightly and scan again. Did this until I got the best number of and combination of channels. I get solid reception on all.

70 dollar ONN antenna from Walmart, that came with the amplifier as well.

Love getting all these old westerns, original COPS episodes, from networks such as H&I, WEST, GRIT, and many more being broadcast by local affiliates. Includes the CW where I'm getting the Saturday NASCAR races.

The tuners built into TVs today are fantastic. I have a midrange priced Samsung and it gets the stations. My old Pioneer Plasma wasn't worth a shit, airwave wise.

There's no such thing as an HDTV antenna, so don't get suckered by companies that describe it as so.

Yep, but you might not be aware because in California I think Newsome has decided they cause a ten degree increase in global temperatures and also has found that people with antennas are inherently racist against every minority group.

I have a racist free traditional outdoor antenna mounted in my attic to receive signals to my big screen TV in my living room here in the Dallas area. RCA ANT 751R
I got this antenna when I went cable free in 2016.
I get all of the local stations and most of the Low Power stations in the area.
I adjusted (on the fixed mount) the direction of the antenna 3 times to finally find the "sweet spot" to pull in the Low Power stations that I could, without sacrificing getting the main stations.



For my other TV in my office, I use a smaller antenna that I bought at Ollie's Discount store for around $10.

What I recommend, generally, for indoor applications, is try a "dollar store" cheap antenna. Keep the packaging, and if that doesn't work, return it and go to something more expensive. Keep doing that until you find an antenna that gets you what you want. Also, for my office and my living room, I have a separate antenna amplifier.

The third thing to keep in mind, is that some of your local stations may broadcast from different towers and that other digital frequency may the one to get the more reliable signal. For example, WFAA channel 8 is broadcast on 81. and 8.8 and I get the better reception with 8.8 so that's the digital channel I have saved on my TVs.

Then there's Fox 4. I get the 4.1 signal just fine in the living room. But in my office, I need to use their signal on 27.4 even though it's not the HD signal that 4.1 is.
