How ugly will things get if we lose to the Titans

We'd be 0-2 (obviously) where the numbers say only like 12% of teams make the playoffs.

We'd then have the Rams, Saints, Texans, and Seahawks. Most likely we'd be 2-4 after our first six games. And that's only if we beat STL and HOU, which is no guarantee.

Will the general fanbase -- not the smarter people here -- start showing real disgust with Jerry and Red? Or will people still look to all the games we could win against teams like the Giants, Skins, and Jags?

I'm thinking this thing could really crumble and Jerry could finally start feeling the most heat he has since the Campo days, or maybe even ever, if we lose... But I don't want to get my hopes up. What do you guys say.

Here in Dallas apathy is at an all - time high. My buddy who works at VR has already heard if we start 0-5, red won't see game 6. This is what I'm hoping for. To answer your question: yes, I agree this will be the most heat jerry's had in a while.

Well unfortunately I'm sure we'll win at least one of those games, so Red getting shitcanned that soon is probably too much to hope for.

I do try to listen to a lot of the Dallas talk shows and like you say, I already don't ever remember this much Jerry disgust. But then I can't say I listened much before the Parcells days. Even with Campo, I remember most people realizing they were in salary cap hell when Troy had to retire so I don't even remember as much disgust back then.

Another bad thing- If Romo has any more bad games more heat could go on him than on Jerry and Garrett, which is too bad. Hope that doesn't happen.

wouldn't freak me out as much as the the 0-2 start did in 1993. even at 0-6 last year, the Giants still had a chance had they defeated us at the Meadowlands. 0-3 would indeed be dire, but i don't see us losing to the QB-crippled Rams.

If it's competitive and/or close then I think we will kill the Rams the following week and jerry will be all optimistic.

But by and large we should learn something Sunday. If this offense is going to in any way be comparable to last year we should win those two games. One would think. It's not unreasonable to have either position at this point really, since we know so little from the first game.

Yeah, I mentioned the part about beating the Rams and Texans not being a given. (One thing, couldn't everyone see this team winning @Tenn, then getting overconfident on the road against an 0-2 team we've stomped the last two times we've played and losing to that pass rush?)

The part about the stadium is what I'm thinking about. The PSLs are already sold, but if it gets bad enough people may not even show up. Fans of teams like Arizona and even Washington probably won't even want to pay up if their teams are having bad years, too.

I'd love to see a lot of empty seats in Jerry's palace. He hasn't had to deal with that since he opened the place.

Normally I'd agree with this statement but we made Matt McGloin look like Tom Brady last year.

Does anyone think they Jason might not even really want to keep this job? Like he is just playing out his contract; not intentionally losing but showing no desperation to win either.

There is a part of me that thinks that he is basically just meeting his criteria for head coach, keeping everything the same, appearing to lead, and just biding his time until his contract runs out because he does not want to be head coach or maybe, he never did. It may have been he just wants to be a QB coach or OC, but Jerry promoted him and he is just waiting to be let go so he can go do whatever it is he thinks he is better at.

QB coach? maybe.

But now that I think of it, his whole family is from college coaching (aside from scouting) and this experience with Dallas gives him that HC on his resume, so my guess is he is just going to look for a college coaching gig once this year is done. He talks so much about Nick Saban that I would guess that Jason aligns his status with Saban.

I just wonder if Jason never really wanted to be the Dallas head coach in the first place.

We're going to see what Romo has left in the tank. I personally think the wheels fall off this season and we're looking a huge cap hit and a team without a franchise QB. That would be the worse case scenario unless we're picking #1 and there's a QB worth the pick (Mariota?).

Omega - of course he wanted it. You know Jerry promised him this job to keep him from taking the Ravens job. (How happy are they that he didn't?) I think he just sucks at it and now he doesn't know what to do beyond his lame cliche-ridden pep talks.

And on the Rams... Hill got hurt last week and they were basically playing their 3rd string QB. They signed Case Keenum and are trying to get him ready. Wouldn't be surprised if he played next week. Not that he's any good either, but he can at least move around a little and make a big play or two, like a poor man's Romo.
