50 years ago today. Austria's Toni Fritsch slots over the game-winning FG as time expires to defeat the Eagles...

There is a funny story behind this one. As they were lining up for the FG the Eagles players were shouting at Fritsch, "MISS IT! MISS IT!!" To which Dave Edwards replied, "You're wasting your time fellas. He doesn't speak a word of English."

I remember first time hearing about this I had a hard time believing it. I was headed in to work when I got there I told my crew none of them could believe it either. I was known as a practical joker so not considered a reliable news source lol

Here's a gold nugget of Bob Hayes related trivia for you all. Hayes was selected by the Cowboys in the 7th round (88th overall) in the 1964 NFL Draft. But look who the Lions selected out of Wichita State with the very next pick...

...none other than The Big Tuna himself, future Cowboys HC Bill Parcells.

Apparently Parcells was the first player cut by the Lions in training camp after complaining that it was too hot to practice.
