Oh, and FUCK YOU Mid and BB

Report: League admits blown calls in Detroits favor

Clarence Hill @clarencehilljr · 16m16 minutes ago

Just in keeping with fairness, the NFL has told the Cowboys that game officials missed several penalties against the Lions

The Cowboys sent in 10 plays to the league to get reviewed as they do every week. At least 7 came back in their favor.

Among the flags missed were illegal hands to face that was so blatant that it knocked off Jermey Parnells helmet.

There was also a defensive hold on Jason Witten on the play before the 4th and 6

The league did not agree with the Cowboys on both running into the punter penalty and non penalty. The Lions did not run into Chris Jones

The NFL ought to be ashamed of themselves for having such an inept officiating crew assigned to a playoff game.

Fortunately for us they did, however. Because it allowed us to basically steal a game.

People are acting like this is something new. Officials have been fucking shit up for a long time. It's gotten really bad the last ten years or so.

I've always wanted a system where these idiots get fined a percentage of their game checks. Not necessarily for missed calls, but calls that are phantom penalties, especially ones that stall drives or decide outcomes.

We have instant replay, challenge flags, and official review for one reason and one reason only.

NFL officials suck and always have.

Because? They're part time officials. They're doctors, lawyers, and such. The NFL needs to make it a full time job, a career, with training camps and the whole schemer.

An official should never decide who wins a game. These guys seem to thrive on inserting themselves into games way too much. It's like they want to say "hey, look at me, I'm in the nfl too!"

They need to get rid of the replay system too. That thing is so broken, they still get calls wrong. It's a waste of time.

Yep, 100% truth here. Couldnt agree more.

The "replacement" officials were much better. The difference? They really TRIED harder. I wrote this little missive about this back in September 2012:

The bandwagon screams "we want the real refs baaaaaack" and it's almost as mindless as "Hope and Change" and the crap the Paulbots spew. I'll take it apart in two points.

1.) Did you actually forget how BAD the "real" refs are?

We have coaches' challenges, instant replay, booth review and starting this season, plays resulting in a called turnover or scoring play are automatically reviewed. Why?

BECAUSE THE REFS SUCK! That's why. And they always have. Otherwise, why were all these checks made necessary?

The mindless ninnies out there seem to think the "real" refs were a whole hell of alot better than they actually were. Newsflash - they weren't and also aren't all that much "better" than the replacement crew. The replacements TRY HARDER to get it right, and WANT to get it right.

2.) Blaming the officials when your team loses.

This mindless crap, where did it come from? What happened to placing the blame where it belongs - on your team not executing?

Jimmy Johnson all during his coaching career summed it up succinctly and I'll paraphrase, "We have to be good enough that bad calls don't affect the outcome of the games."

See? WE are to blame if we lose! What a concept! Personal responsibility!

Green Bay fans, your team should NOT have been in a situation where a "bad call" or non call could have affected the game, simple as that.

Why did Jimmy Johnson have that attitude? BECAUSE HE KNOWS THE REFS SUCK and there's nothing he or his players can do about that, except play and succeed far beyond the effect one, two or even three or more "bad calls" or non calls can have!

So stop the whining and the teeth gnashing, nattering nabobs and place the blame where it goes - YOUR TEAM.

NFL: Your public relations is TERRIBLE on this issue. Fix it like this:

1.) Tell the "real" refs to stick it up their ass and announce you are going with the replacements for the rest of the season.

2.) List the demands of this union one by one and break it down for the folks - point out that these by and large are RICH DUDES who all have high paying professional careers besides football officiating, and there is NO REASON for the NFL to provide pensions, health care and other perks to PART TIME SEASONAL WORKERS who are rich dudes anyway.

To hell with this crap. Get tough, NFL. Play smash mouth with these spoiled incompetents, these pukes who feel entitled to something NO ONE else has.

If you knuckle under to this union of part time seasonal workers who are rich dudes? You open the door to more such shit in the future. It goes back to why you did the lockout to start with. Shit, or get off the pot. Fish or cut bait.

But, you'll probably punt or take a knee. Weak livered sons of bitches.

And that's the memo.

Fast forward to today, and look at the results. Impossibly, the officials actually got WORSE after the NFL knuckled under to them.

Not at all. But there were missed holds on both sides. Some of those on Dallas occurred on the possession they shouldn't have had. But let's say the missed holds even out.

But did the refs throw a flag on an obvious defensive hold/PI... announce the penalty, mark off the yardage.... Then mysteriously pick the flag up without explanation, in turn fucking Dallas? Because they certainly did all that and fucked Detroit over.

and you wonder why people think your an assswipe

Wrong. What fucked Detroit over was the 10 yard punt that followed, and their total inability to stop the Dallas offense in the second half.

As the Detroit coach said, the calls didn't decide the outcome of the game. He said "we still had many chances to win."

They lost. The game wasn't given or stolen, it was earned.

Yep, that's why this call is getting such run. If a flag had never been thrown, Lions fans wouldn't have liked it, but it would've been just another possibly missed call. But for the refs to actually mark off the yardage, then change their minds and say no penalty with no explanation? That's highly unusual and looks terrible.

Thats wrong Dooms...Dallas only scored on 4 of their last 6 possessions (two non scores were missed FG and end of game) because the refs cheated Detroit. Midtroll said so.

It happens in every single game. They just get magnified because its the playoffs and there a lot of Cowboy haters.

Nevermind, Cowboys were gifted a playoff win. #sarcasmlazarusyoudumbfuck

I dont think they actually marked off the penalty did they? Didnt they just announce it, then the other ref came in and told the head guy it wasnt a penalty.

LOL

I'll not argue with the Detroit coach, who said they lost and the calls didn't affect the outcome.

And ultimately while this was very unusual, they did get it right. It wasnt pass interference.

The Lions lost the game because they couldnt stop Dallas on their final drive and then couldnt score on their final drive, even when they got a reprieve on lawrence's fumbled recovery.
