I missed that. Of course it is John Roberts and ACB again. The twisted logic they used to allow this practice to continue is just more liberal absurdity. According to Barrett, the constitution says nothing about mail-in ballots being counted after election day so the SC cannot add words to the constitution. It is that kind of thinking that just screams TDS. The constitution stipulates an ELECTION DAY., and it specifies the day elections are to take place. If anything, the constitution states that there should be no early voting or late mail in ballots. The SC seems to think "election day is actually a deadline rather than an action election day.

The one thing on the plus side is ballots have to be postmarked no later than elections day. That means states can throw away ballots marked after election day or ballots with no post marks at all.

But the answer is to limit mail-in ballots for now, only to those people who cannot physically get to a polling place. With early voting there is no reason anyone needs an absentee ballot, except military personnel stationed overseas.
