And I'm open to the possibility that gambling has been affecting the outcome of games for many years before the league embraced it. Even if it's just something done to either help a team cover the spread or make sure it doesn't. The spitting incident, when you see it from a more distant camera looks as scripted and rehearsed as a WWE promo. The Cowboys are consistently one of the highest wagered sports teams yr over yr, both for and against.
The officials are 100% part of the corruption because I whole heartedly believe a fairly large number of them wager on games themselves. The league ignores it because it would absolutely destroy the money in the league from gambling, fantasy football, ticket sales and ultimately advertisers.
That said, the stuff they called on the Foreskins last night was the same or even less than what he faced on a week to week basis here as a Cowboy. That stuff is not explainable as "oops I missed it" and many of the calls were right in front of their face. Parsons is not any more dominant today than he was the last 4 years.
The only thing that changed was his unform color.
I'm watching the lines now and what gets my attention is all of the large point spreads start going down as bets against it load up. Then these are the games that wind up with one or more weird things happen. The other thing I watch is the over and under on combined points. See some of the same stuff you can see when people load up on the under. It's never the over. Because not scoring points is infinitely easier than making sure you score them. Also easy to just sort of give up more points in order to make the over.
Anyhow, to me it's tainted now.
