The real defense showed back up today, absolutely horrible. No coverage, no pass rush, no leader on that side of the ball.
For the first time this season, the Dak we've all known and traded a thousand times in our minds was back. He got behind, tried to press and made stupid ass throws. Yes, Denver has a very good defense, so does that mean even if they by some miracle make the playoffs a team with a good defense is going to blow their doors off right away. Expectations...why have any at this point?

3 safeties gone for today. Two of them arnt any good so maybe it will be a positive.

Safety should probably be a high priority trade deadline target.
That won't happen. Jerry hasn't paid shit for safety for years.

Very tough place to be the opposing QB and that's regardless of who it is. Then when your D is just a toll free turnstile and you have a ton of scoring pressure on you, of course you're going to press. I'm not laying any blame on Dak.

Normally, I'd agree with you. Except in Dak's case he's done it in the past when we've had defenses significantly better than this crapfest.

Yes, there was plenty of blame today to go around. Doesn't excuse the fact that the defense is crap...

It's consistent with Dak on the road all year, every game. But then you look at other QBs and you see a lot of the same thing. In fact Dak's numbers today were better thsn his average road game this year. Mile High is especially hard to win in. Especially with all the stupid pre-snap penalties. Drive killers.

I knew when we settled for that first FG what was coming. If you don't score a quick punitive TD after a takeaway they know your teeth are dull. Props up the opponent.

Dak does have great numbers but he's just like Danny White who had great numbers too, he was a damn good QB but he would do really boneheaded shit that made a huge difference in killing off the season. The infamous Tom Landry scream "NO DANNY, NO!!!!" still visions in my head when he fumbled in the NFC championship. In 9 years, Dak has mostly sucked half the season and always in the end

Romo is the better comparison. Tom wanted to trade Danny as early as '82. The "No Danny No" was when White audibled to a run play on 4th and short while we were in FG range. Play was stuffed and we didn't get our FG try. He was supposed to not snap the ball and take the delay of game penalty then we'd settle for 3. Turned the ball over on downs and it was a momentum killer.

I'm hearing desperate fans on 105.3 saying that we should trade for Maxx Crosby (if available). They say that we should give two first round picks as long as we have him for another three years.

I disagree with this thinking. We need to see who becomes available in free agency. Look at the Seattle Seahawks. They signed DeMarcus Lawrence and he is doing very well for them.

Why go out and sign Crosby, give up two first round picks (we could've just kept Parsons) only to realize in free agency that you had a chance to sign someone like a Trey Fredrickson without needing to give up any picks?

We now have the money to spend in free agency. One reason why we traditionally do not spend money in free agency is because we don't have the money. But by getting rid of Parsons be freed up money. Jerry Jones has said that one reason why "we didn't get as much as we wanted for Parsons" is because the Packers agreed to pay much of his current salary. I think he said the freed up something like $20 million.

I just don't get why fans want to hurry up and get rid of draft picks that can be parlayed for more picks. What if a team is willing to part ways with 2 number 2 picks and a couple of number 3 picks. In other words, I think we should keep our gunpowder dry.

What teams out there are in position to maybe lose their defensive end the way we lost DeMarcus Lawrence? In my opinion, we need a plethora of talent.

One reason is because Mike McCarthy intentionally built the defense to have a pass rush first (notice Quinn isn't doing that in DC), but that only works if you can get off to a significant lead that forces the other team to abandon the run. In fairness, he did try to shore up the run defense by drafting Mazi, but that was a bust.

So, in my opinion, we need safeties, we need linebackers, we need defensive lineman, and so forth (and I do not care who the defensive coordinator is because no defensive coordinator can do consistently well without talent). Put talent on the field and then I will begin to blame the defensive coordinator.

We should be signing quality free agents and possibly parlaying a number 1 pick for more picks, not giving them up.

I remember when Landry warned Butch Johnson about doing silly celebrations in the endzone and when he scored a touchdown against Denver, he did his silly celebration gunslinger dance and still being down by 20 points. Landry traded him the following day to Houston and they traded him to Denver LOL!!!
I seem to recall Drew Pearson hurting himself dunking over the goalpost and then, if my memory is correct, I think Tom Landry had him play the next play or series – something like that

Parsons the "Nowhere Man" so far tonight. Squealers making Micah disappear, not even double teaming him. He's credited for a half sack on a busted play he was blocked into anyway. He's done nothing else. You hardly ever even see him onscreen. Sound familiar?

It was against the Giants in '79. He jumped in the air after a score and landed awkwardly, dinging his knee. No goalpost.

I need to put on the game and stop listening to Broaddus. They are pissing me off with the idea of giving up two number 1 picks for Crosby without even talking about who might be out there in free agency.

Fredrickson in FA or Crosby for 2 number one picks? Just hold off and see who becomes available in FA.

You sure no goal posts? Maybe we are talking about different plays.

I can't find the play. I see it in my head.

But I did find this
