It’s time to move on from Dez

What would it take to trade up from 19 to around the 7-9th overall pick?

It’s time to move on from Dez

I personally think Dez is out because he was the most logical choice for cap space. It's obvious we didn't need him in 2016 and he played (minus a few plays) abysmal in 2017. I just don't think he's garbage. I think a lot of what happened had to do with the QB change and poor game planning...

It’s time to move on from Dez

I'm pretty sure there's a 4M dead cap hit next year. I could be wrong. That might be only if we kept him

It’s time to move on from Dez

It won't be the Eagles because they simply can't pay him. I'm sure he'd love to do it just to stick it to us. But it just isn't possible.

It’s time to move on from Dez

He could go to the Redskins. They have the cash.

It’s time to move on from Dez

You're right IMO. I think if he goes to the 49ers or Patriots he will be a monster.

It’s time to move on from Dez

I'm really not arguing with you. I think it's about pride for him. What will he do now? Look to show the Cowboys he's worth the money and go to the highest bidder? Or go somewhere that he can win for a smaller paycheck? I honestly don't know. I'm just glad they didn't cut him post June. I...

It’s time to move on from Dez

If Dez goes to the Patriots, watch out. I like Dez. I don't think he's worth the 16.5M cap hit, but I think the Patriots could use him a lot more than we can. They have a better system, better coaching, almost better everything. But will almost most certainly happen is he'll go to the Browns...

It’s time to move on from Dez

Yes. If he wants to win. The Patriots and Packers could probably sign him. But neither can afford to overpay him. The Saints would have a bit more trouble. If he just wants money the Browns and 49ers are the places to go. They are both up and coming and can use a WR like him for a year or...

    I was just being sarcastic.

It’s time to move on from Dez

So from what I can tell it's about a 50/50 split on whether or not to keep Dez?

It’s time to move on from Dez

Not a shocker. He won't take a pay cut and he's not worth 25M over the next two years. So he's gone.

It’s time to move on from Dez

Good. I don't think we should ever run from shotgun. Zeke is a kick ass downhill runner. No. Someone once said there are 3 types of lies, lies, damn lies, and statistics. You're getting caught up in statistics. I'm not saying we need to pass more or run more. We need to run more plays...

It’s time to move on from Dez

Neither. I would like to see them pass more from under center, not necessarily pass more in general. I don't like it that the opposing defense knows what we're running on every play before the ball is snapped.

It’s time to move on from Dez

Yes. But again, you're pushing 4.2M to next year. Think that's a good idea? His base salary will be considerably less, but his signing bonus, even prorated will cut into that. Besides, what do you consider long term? He's 27 now. How much do you think he'll want on a 4 year deal? I think...

It’s time to move on from Dez

I was referring to releasing players. Giving Lawrence a long term deal would free up a lot. Not so much with Martin. Forget Smith, look at his contract now. No way to restructure that and remain sane. Releasing Crawford saves 1.8M on the cap.

It’s time to move on from Dez

Yes. I don't mind when it's obvious passing situations. Besides Troy and gang, the Cowboys have been doing that since forever. I'm talking about when it isn't so obvious. We're still primarily passing out of shotgun and running under center. For example, 2nd and 8 shouldn't be that obvious...

It’s time to move on from Dez

The Cowboys are 6.5M over the cap with projected draft picks. They probably won't keep all of the picks so that number will be a bit lower. Now when you look at the Cowboys roster and contracts, one stands out, Dez. There isn't another player on the team that can make up that cap money by...

It’s time to move on from Dez

I don't mind if we run the ball even more than we do now. I just wish when we passed the ball it would be from under center more often instead of shotgun.

It’s time to move on from Dez

This makes the Cowboys slightly more obvious than anyone else.
