Day After Thoughts Preseason game 1

Everybody knows this already. Normally no one would give a crap about players that we'll never play or we'll never face. But it just seemed like a reoccurring theme. Different coaching staffs give teams identities. And blowing sizable leads recently happens to be ours.

The 2018 Debacle as I see it

My expectations for this season is 8-8 give or take a game. I think we have the talent to not crash and burn, but not do much better unless all the planets align. I'm hoping for the best but am prepared for the worst.

The 2018 Debacle as I see it

I'm not sure the defense played any better. Few turnovers and ball control offense hid them on the sidelines. That leaves little room for error. Errors we made in the playoffs we couldn't overcome. But that was the same crap defense.

The 2018 Debacle as I see it

That Cowboys team beat that Packers team 8 straight times. They even beat them in the regular season in '96. After that the Cowboys were a shell of what they used to be.

It’s time to move on from Dez

In regards to the bold, wouldn't that be like putting him on the "Transition" tag? I wonder why teams don't use that anymore. That's the best way to test their market value.

It’s time to move on from Dez

They cut Dez prior to his last two seasons. Seasons that would have netted him 25M. He wasn't even drawing double coverage most of the time last year, so no, I don't think he was worth his remaining contract.

    Earl Thomas thread

If you're right then we absolutely can't sign him. It would be a waste. You hire mercenaries like that to put you over the top. But what if all the stars align and our D steps it up bigtime this year? We don't usually think in those terms since we haven't seen a good D since '96, but this...

The 2018 Debacle as I see it

Of all this, I'd be happy if Sean Lee stayed healthy. Until I see it with my own eyes, I will not believe we have a defense without him.

It’s time to move on from Dez

Why would Cleveland want Dez? Don't they already have some pretty good WRs on that team? Did someone get hurt or suspended?

    Your takes on Dak..

Of course Wentz is now the man. The real deal. But in 2016 it was Dak, and Carson who? It's amazing what a supporting case can do for a QB.

    Your takes on Dak..

I think he will too. If he gets time on the pocket with WRs breaking open he can get it to them. What I don't know is how good he is in tight windows. But last year, and unlike his rookie year, he was always getting chased out of the pocket. No one was breaking open. Or he needs better...

    Your takes on Dak..

I cannot possibly agree with this more. Even in 2016 I think 2 of his 4 picks were throwing to Dez. I know he slipped on a slant and the DB behind him picked it off for one of them. I don't think Dak is elite, but I don't think he sux either. I think the team collapsed around him and he went...

What is latest on Randy Gregory

Yeah, but if his only problem was weed, I give him a good shot at turning it around, and keeping it that way. The bigger question is can he still play? Let's face it, our only hope is defense this year. Let's hope all the stars align perfectly this year and the D is top notch. We have some...

    Cowboys vs Redskins

Good choice in not going to see them play the Eagles. I've never once considered it and it's the closest stadium to me. But was Giants stadium not an option? I can't see that being much further from Buffalo than Philly. I've watched the Cowboys there on many occasions, and even once watched...

    Earl Thomas thread

The answer is no IMO. We needed to solidify that position. I don't blame Seattle for wanting a second, I'd want a 2nd too for a player like that. But realize both Dallas and Seattle wanted more than either side was willing to give. It's human nature to want more for less as the buyer and...

America's Game: The 1992 Dallas Cowboys

I kind of thought they were one player away as well. The problem was, they were one player away the previous season, not the upcoming season. That Vikings team was not the same team after the Walker trade. They regressed in other areas. Despite the lopsided trade there were those that...

Not local. I live in NJ and I remember the commercial.

T.O. on Dallas coach Jason Garrett: 'I just don't understand why this guy still has a job"

Agreed. But even those with average intellect can learn from their mistakes. I've said it before and I'll say it again, another mediocre year and Garrett is gone. He's run his course.

Five other things we learned about the Cowboys

I think Jaylon Smith is worth mentioning. I'm not sure what people expected from him thus far, but this year he should show improvement.

What is latest on Randy Gregory

I'm not holding my breath either. I had already written him off. So I can only be pleasantly surprised by anything positive from the guy.
