I hadn't even thought about this and just focused on the SCOTUS, but the next President, even if he's Republican, will basically be a lame duck who won't be able to get his nominees passed for key positions such as DoJ AG, Defense Secretary, Secretary of State, judicial nominees, etc. Huge.

He is not exactly a live wire but he is the candidate I hope runs. He has the credentials, he is smart, articulate and avoids the verbal blunders. He is the most qualified candidate from either party. Can he win? I don't know. Like I said he is not exactly Mr. Charisma. And Trump damaged him in 2020, especially with MAGA voters. But I don't see anyone else in the Republican party who can win either. It's sad actually because our country is on the precipice of disaster.

Now lets go a step further. Texas is a border state and we all saw what happened during the Biden years where people flooded the border from the South. If Republicans don't win the presidency in 2028, you'll have a Dem governor in Florida and a Dem president that will open the border which will ensure Texas never goes red again. All these Texans that stayed home can go fuck themselves and eat their rice and beans and choke on them.
I read that Texas voter turnout did was not substantially lower than previous mid-term elections. Is that what you heard? I saw one analysis showing that many Republican voters in Texas voted for the Democrat rather than the Republicans, especially Abbott and Paxton. Cornyn was actually campaigning for Talarico which had to hurt Paxton.

As more information comes in I am starting to get a better understanding of what happened.

First, it's a mid-term election in the 2nd term of an incumbent president. That is typically a very bad year for the party of the president.

Second, I read voter turnout was not substantially lower for Republicans than in the past. That means Republicans, in some part, voted Democrat. And that means some were very angry with Republicans when they voted. The good news is we can get those voters back and retake some of what we lost.

Third, we have to stop denying that the war with Iran was not an issue for voters. It was. The Country is tired of forever wars and the Iran war has all the appearances of another conflict with no end. I saw Mark Levin posted something saying Trump went to war because he was told that Iran was 10 days away from having 11 nuclear warheads. If this is true, the he should have told the American people and provided specific information. Then he could have bombed them to stop the production and ended it. Regime change is always a huge mistake and it gets messy. Regardless, it is an issue with voters.

Fourth, we need new party leadership. Republican election leadership was very weak this election. For example Elyse Stefanik who is very popular in NY was going to challenge Kathy Hochul in the governors race. But when she declared, some guy named Bruce Blakeman joined the race to run against Stefanik in the primaries. She dropped out because she didn't want to spend the money on a primary so Blakeman ran against Hochul, who is a total clown, and lost. Blakeman ran basically a silent campaign. In my district the guy who ran for the congressional seat didn't even campaign. I never heard of him until I got my sample ballot in the mail. While the Democrat was running TV ads and sending mailers to every household, the Republican was not heard from. How can you win with candidates like that? I have heard this same complaint from a number of friends in various states.

I think the 2028 election is still in play. We can and must win the presidency. But we cannot run a candidate who is not a fighter, does not stick to the issues that matter, does not take the election seriously or has personal baggage he brings with him into the election.

I heard the Texas legislature is majority Democrats now too, Is that true? I read the Governor and legislature will change things regarding elections to ensure Republicans do not win again. The problem with Democrats winning the governors races is they will stop and and all investigations into vote fraud in their states. They won't cooperate with federal investigations either so it's pretty much game over at this point. Without Texas there is no chance a Republican can win back the White House. 2029 will be the end of America as we know it.
Thats what happened here in GA (allegedly).

They (Dems) won statewide elections for Governor, Sec of State, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, Agriculture Commission and now sit on top of the Utilities Board and won the state House. I haven't heard if they won the state Senate yet. I think Texas R's maintained control of their senate but not sure if that was final yet.

What you note above is what will happen here, downtown Atlanta and the main two counties (Fulton and DeKalb) were already corrupt as hell, now there will never be a way to properly investigate or act on obvious voter fraud (which is extensive). Gov Brian Kemp and SoS Brad Raffensperger are essentially 100% to blame, they were presented bookoos of evidence for fraud in 2020 and 2022 and denied/downplayed it all. Then Kemp attended the WEF meetings and was caught on hot mic discussing the elections and being congratulated by the main WEF troll for "job well done on your elections" because everyone knew the ramifications had they allowed a true investigation.

This is amazing considering the day they had yesterday here.

Today all those gains obliterated. But hey China markets are killing it and thats what Dems really care about.

"A lot of our voters who stayed home, they stayed home because they were frustrated with the lack of productivity from Republicans in the House and Senate.

I keep seeing this reasoning and can't help but think, what kind of asshole does this? You're going to show them dang Republicans a thing or two by raising the odds of having an anti-American, mentally retarded ass clown gain power and basically put a nail in our collective coffin.

Fucking morons should have their right to vote revoked, if they're not going to use it, at least as a barrier to anti-American commie assholes taking office.

I agree 100% but there were shenanigans going on. In Texas, Abbott got basically the same exact amount of votes he got the last time he ran. Hinojosa (or however you spell it) got 2 million more votes than the last democrat who ran, Beto. There have not been 2 million more voting age people move to Texas in that time frame. Abbott getting the same number oof votes tells you people did not switch or stay home but something happened to swell the voter rolls. I think they gave all the illegals citizen like credentials that allowed them to vote. I believe they essentially gave them amnesty under the table during the Biden admin.

As much as that does suck, I'd rather that be the case, than anyone being stupid enough to abstain due to a not-so-great candidate. Cali is lost Michigan is lost, looks like Texas is taking a dump and my shitty state of New Jersey is lost. Florida was too close for comfort. We're at a place in this country where we can't say 'get 'em next time'.

I saw a Tweet with the numbers and they were substantially less. I thought I posted it but I could be wrong. Cornyn is what everyone thought he was. Same with Massie and MTG. Good riddance.
