If Indiana finishes it off, they can genuinely make the argument that their school owns the greatest single season in college football and college basketball history.

I don't personally think they are the greatest team in history on the football side, but the argument can be made they had that type of season. What they are doing to teams is super impressive.

There's a new National Champion pounding the turf. Indiana Hoosiers.

The Big Ten has shown strong recent performance with teams like Michigan and Ohio State reaching the College Football Playoff (CFP) title game in recent years, and other Big Ten teams performing well in bowls against the SEC, but the conference hasn't secured a CFP National Championship in the recent playoff era, with Ohio State winning the last one in the traditional BCS/CFP era in 2020, to think they were favored, again.

Both teams were considered long shots to reach the title game, making it a major surprise. Miami has the home field advantage, that's it.

Quick tidbit. The last college football team to complete a perfect, undefeated season was the 2023 Michigan Wolverines, who finished 15-0, won the Big Ten Championship, and captured the College Football Playoff National Title, becoming the first Big Ten team ever to achieve a 15-0 record. That and a couple of bad (stupid) penalties, and then their dominant defense unable to get off the field on last two drives. Two 4th and 5 converts gonna haunt them.
