They didnt pass, the Jets passed on them. The Jags have a better record than us and have a shot at the playoffs. They could have used Williams far more than us. But they passed.

The Jags maybe didnt, am not sure. The Bills probably did, and that's why they chose our deal.Right....because they didn't offer the trade capital we did. It's not hard brother.....
We shall see. He's one of the best players in the league at his position.Because we were the only fools to give up that type of trade capital. It was a bad trade.

We gave up the equiv of two 2nd rd picks.
That's not speculating Amigo, it's called "trade value chart" info.Speculating...............
Did they overpay for George Pickens? When we trade for players, we overpay (Williams, Mingo, Lance). When we trade players away, we don't get nearly enough (Parsons).
Pickens? Depends. You expect a third rounder to play for you for many years. If he leaves after one year, then yes, an overpay. If we get a third round comp pick, then I'll change my mind. And can he ever catch a pass without grandstanding or taunting? He's quickly becoming the Sam Williams of the offense.Did they overpay for George Pickens?
With Lance, A 4th rd pick for a guy who had started games at QB and been a top 5 pick himself doesn't seem like an "overpay" to me. It's a trade that didn't work out, but it was hardly an "overpay"
You guys are off your rocker thinking Q Williams was an overpay (especially right now before we see what we even actually give up)
John Owning had a post dedicated to why his sack production was down this yr, they showed how the new DL coach and HC Glenn were lining him up differently. Expect Whitecotton to move him back into the alignments and stance he was in before. From a pass rush metrics standpoint he is one of the top DT's in the league and has been for several years. That info was also posted.Pickens? Depends. You expect a third rounder to play for you for many years. If he leaves after one year, then yes, an overpay. Nobody was offering more than a fifth for Lance, so yes, overpay.
Throwing in a 2nd for Williams was galling. I saw him wreck the Packers in GB ... two years ago. Sacks are way down and he doesn't rush to get back on the field after injuries. Go to the Jets' message boards. They're not exactly bemoaning his departure. You'll see the word "overrated" more than once. BTW, can he cover WRs or tight ends?
He doesn't wear Depends, he's sticking to the generic store brand until he gets an endorsement deal.Pickens? Depends
The fact that the Niners, an organization way way smarter and more successful than us, couldn't salvage Lance should've told Jerry to stay away.Don't agree with you on Lance, it was worth the risk and giving away a pick that might have been a half round or less better than other teams offered is not an "overpay"
They moved him because of his contract and they had decided they got lucky with a 7th rd pick QB.The fact that the Niners, an organization way way smarter and more successful than us, couldn't salvage Lance should've told Jerry to stay away.
What stats would he have to put up in Dallas to justify the trade in your mind?Quinnen Williams stats from 2021-2024 under Aaron Whitecotton and Robert Saleh:
6 sacks, 12 QB knockdowns, 7 TFL
12 sacks, 28 QB knockdowns, 12 TFL
5 1/2 sacks, 20 QB knockdowns, 11 TFL
6 sacks 18 QB knockdowns, 8 TFL
This yr under new coaching and different scheme:
1 sack, 3 QB knockdowns, 7 TFL
He's 27 by the way.Tyron Smith (first round) and DLaw (second) gave us many years of high-quality play. Conversely, we gave up those same high picks for a guy pushing 30 with a lot of miles on him. If Williams plays at a high level here for more than three years, I'll be shocked.
I think if he averages 5-7 sacks and stuffs the run similarly to what he has done his career he is worth it.What stats would he have to put up in Dallas to justify the trade in your mind?
