This is where I differ from most anyone I've heard or read. The time for us to draft the future QB is TODAY.

Don't disagree here. Not one bit. But we need to face reality that Jerry and Spawn won't do that in 2026 but 2027 was ripe for the pickings and we had the draft capital to make the move(s). Now we just have to either sit back and hope someone falls in the draft or overpay and give up more draft picks to move up.

We still have two first round picks we could parlay to move up. But of course you're right, they'd never do it. Wouldn't even think it.

Our two 1sts are 2026 and we could certainly end up drafting a QB next yr.

2027 we will just have the one 1st, but if we load up other positions in draft and free agency in 2026 we could certainly move up for someone even if it cost us most of our draft stockpile.

I haven't done an in depth on the 26 and 27 QB classes yet, but clearly some of the players people thought were going to be really high picks have slipped badly this yr (and vice versa)
