We just restructured Tyron Smith’s contract and freed up nearly $9mil

We also just restructured Tank’s contract to free up nearly $9mil.

This all comes after we already restructured Dak and Zack which freed up nearly $30mil.

Along with freeing up $7mil by restructuring Gallop

That’s nearly $55mil freed up for those of you counting.

Are we going to do the unthinkable and go after a huge name pick up?

Did Jerry get the news that he only has 6 months left to live and is planning to go all in?
Yesterday, I read that Odell is still on the radar. Stephen knows what he has to spend, but I see players like Micah, Diggs, and more that I'd like to get under contract sooner rather than later to possibly get a discount on them.

Still, we are approaching 30 years without sniffing the SB, so maybe it's time to no longer worry about the future and just go for it. The Rams could now suck for a few years, but they got their SB. If Ram fans have to wait 5 to 10 years to be relevant again, so what?

Who here is good at evaluating OL play?

Do you think trading for Jonah Williams would be a good move to get a young player who might still have upside? He's only 25.

How would he pair with Tyler Smith playing LG?

I get it. The obvious question is that the Bengals wouldn't have traded for Brown if Jonah Williams was all that. But my guess is that the Bengals wanted to move Jonah Williams to RT since La'el is always hurt.

I'm of the opinion that Tyler Smith could be a HOF player at LG, but a pro-bowler at LT. He's similar to Zach Martin in that way.

2 years 6 million for Cooper Rush. I can't compain about that. Although I still maintain that Rush sucks.

Good for Cooper! If he can get that entire 6 million then he's set for life. Then he might be able to squeeze out another one.

Let's say it's 3 million after taxes, not including what he has already made or what he might make in the future.

He can buy a really nice home for cash for about 600k (at least you can in Houston). Put about 200k in a college fund. Buy a couple of decent cars that will last for a 100k, buy life insurance for a 100k, and still have 2 million left over.

And he's very smart, so he'll get a good job after football.

The amount of money even scrubs get is amazing.

Seems to be injured a lot. Why would Cincy a team that has been dealing with below par O Line play let him go? They signed Brown but cant use him somewhere?

love you ES, but shut the fuck up

So true lol.

OBJ visited w/the Jones' a few months ago. If Jerry wanted him he would have been signed. Have a gut feeling OBJ wanted more $ than he's worth. There's 31 other teams that don't want him. Injury record took it's toll. He's washed up!

He is asking for a multi year deal at $20mil per year.

We would be stupid to agree to those terms especially with him coming off an injury and not having proven that he’s back to 100%

This is the shiny toy that Jerry loves and who will sell a ton of jerseys for him

Signing him would be a horrible decision. Which all but guarantees Jeruh makes it happen

Jonah Williams, I think, is a bright spot on their OL.

The Bengals just spent bookoos of money to replace the guy. There's your answer. I wouldn't trade anything for him other than a day three pick and honestly this is a good OL draft, so if they want to go that route just use the draft.

I'd need to see more of Tyler Smith at G before being able to determine if he is a Hall of Fame type talent there. He looked damn good at LT in a rookie year where he had no real practice time there until a week before the season. He's built like a prototype LT and moves exceptionally well. The other thing is the Cowboys drafted him where they did last year because they projected him to be a future LT. I don't think they were wrong on that based on what we saw last year.

I'm not totally against trading for him, but not for what the Cardinals supposedly want right now. No way I'd give up a 1st or 2nd rd pick this year for a WR who's been in the league 10 yrs and is about to turn 31.

He's missed 15 games the past two seasons and last yr only averaged 11.2 yds per reception with 3 tds.

There's obviously some bad picks there, but there's also several really good ones.

I don't think Hopkins with his age and mileage is worth a 2nd rd pick unless we're also getting something else back (a middle to later rd pick). I also don't think he does much to open up the offense, to me he's really more of a possession receiver right now.

Not opposed to getting him if the value is there, but to me a 2nd in this draft seems steep. Now if it's a 2nd next yr, I could probably get behind that (valued as a 3rd in current draft)

Ideally if we were going to get him, it'd be no more than a 4th or 5th. Or maybe that and a later rd pick next yr.

Yeah,
To me it boils down to a 3 man race of who you think will provide more impact. OBJ's injuries and diva background but also to a lesser extent Hopkins missed time as well. I like both of 'em over Cooks. If I was backed into a corner as a GM assessing risk/reward I'm going with Hopkins. Like this shows, it's not like the team is hitting their 2nd round picks outta the park. Heck, Connor Williams was let go last year.
Just my .02.

I hope like hell that all this isn’t to make room to sign OBJ. But I fear that it is.

The worst thing we can do is sign him to a huge $20mil, multi year long term deal!

But in Jerry’s mind, that sure would sell a lot of jerseys!!

We just traded our 5th this year and 6th round pick next year with the Texans for Brandon Cooks.

Thank god we don’t have to worry about them overpaying for OBJ anymore!
