parsons looks hurt
That's because he is.

Got dinged (knee or ankle) vs Cinci and then had the groin thing. I'm guessing he may not be close to 100% again until after the bye week.

I unfortunately had to travel for work and didn't get home till late last night, watched it at a sports bar in DC.

It certainly looked very bleak the first 30 mins, but they deserve props for making it a legit game in the 2nd half. In the end, the backup QB returned to earth and showed everyone why he is a backup at best, McCarthy made one inexplicably stupid decision not to challenge an obvious 1st down spot and the defense had one bad drive in the 2nd half.

We barely lost on the road despite 3 turnovers from the backup QB (while we got none ourselves) and for the first time since week one had a bad run with penalties. A few of the penalties really hurt too (the Fowler offsides, the ST holding call that wiped out a great return, couple of good offensive plays wiped out) but just the Fowler play and the McCarthy gaffe cost us a total of 7 pts, which would have flipped the game our way.

Just fyi, I found blurb last week that said the Eagles were 6-0 with this ref crew, whereas we were 3-3. Those numbers are now 7-0 and 3-4. I would be curious to see if all 6 of those previous Eagles wins had a similar lopsided penalty number for/against as ours did. I'm not complaining too much about the 10 we got, most were clearly deserved. But the Eagles got called for only two penalties and no offensive holding calls. They had a couple different backup OL at the game in the 2nd half too.

To me there are some (I said SOME) similarities between this game and the game in 1992 where we played them early in the season and they blew us out in Philly. We had turnovers and some other mistakes but we actually moved the ball and outgained them that night (which we had struggled mightily to do against them for years prior to that) and after the game Jimmy actually seemed even more confident about out ability to match up against them physically. We played them two more times that yr and basically dominated both games (incl the playoff ass whipping) and beat them easily be avoiding the turnovers. I don't know if we would have won "easily" without the turnovers this time, but we definitely would have won.

We won 4 games with a backup QB that some (incl myself) didnt believe should have even made the team out of camp. If Prescott simply plays at an ACCEPTABLE level, avoids turnovers and creates an occasional big play downfield with his arm or extending 3rd downs with his legs if we keep playing defense the way we are and stay committed to the run, we should be in good shape. Our special teams are really good and we'll win one or two games this year because of them

Ferguson and Hendershot are legit, they should immediately start making calls to trade Schultz (if they already havent). If they could get a decent player in return or at least a 3rd rd pick or something next April, they should move him.

Ferguson is going to be a bigtime TE for us for a long time.

Didn't they say Tolbert impressed a couple of weeks ago? Didn't translate to much then...
Well somebody has to throw him the ball for him to make plays.

He had a Giants CB beaten deep on one ball in week 4 but Rush overthrew him.

People need to be patient with draft picks. Not every player takes the league by storm from day one. He's got talent and he produced some good games against bigger schools in college. He'll be fine.

We got a 5th round pick for Amari Cooper

We won’t be getting a 3rd rounder for Shultz

Schultz doesnt cost 20+ million either. He's also younger and doesn't have a somewhat questionable locker-room rep.

Somebody that wants him would definitely have to part ways with a 3rd or multiple middle round picks because if they do nothing and wait for him to leave via FA, he's going to garner a contract that probably nets us a 3rd rd pick anyway (albeit in 2024 instead of 2023)

Especially with him not having a contract past this year.
Anybody that would trade for him would obviously extend his contract now, and not only lessen his cap charge for 2022 but probably have a pretty manageable number for 2023 and maybe even 2024.

The league just fined Parsons $10k for “taunting” and unsportsmanlike like conduct when he flexed at Goddard after a play

And Diggs was fined $9k when he removed his helmet after the TD

So these guys can be fined $10k for any damn thing nowadays. What a great time for the NFL.

I can see fining Diggs. But the penalty against Parsons is so subjective and almost something we see every week in almost every game. Think if this would have been called on Lamb during the OT TD catch against New England last year. It's a stupid penalty and I've seen worse taunting.

I dont even understand the penalty or fine for Diggs either.

Multiple times a week some guy removes his helmet and there's no flag then.

And yet a whole team can run down the entire field to the end zone after a good play , dance around in the end zone like a bunch of yokels and that's not called taunting. The NFL is all fucked up!
