BBC News on PBS tonight: "Monkeypox is more likely to be transmitted in the gay community."

But this fact is being downplayed in the CDC's description of Transmission. Here's their PC statement:

"Transmission of monkeypox virus occurs when a person comes into contact with the virus from an animal, human, or materials contaminated with the virus. The virus enters the body through broken skin (even if not visible), respiratory tract, or the mucous membranes (eyes, nose, or mouth). Animal-to-human transmission may occur by bite or scratch, bush meat preparation, direct contact with body fluids or lesion material, or indirect contact with lesion material, such as through contaminated bedding. Human-to-human transmission is thought to occur primarily through large respiratory droplets. Respiratory droplets generally cannot travel more than a few feet, so prolonged face-to-face contact is required. Other human-to-human methods of transmission include direct contact with body fluids or lesion material, and indirect contact with lesion material, such as through contaminated clothing or linens."

Anyone old enough to remember the 1980s AIDs scare? First the story was that aids would infect 85% of everyone. The world had to act and act now to stop it. Then as it became more clear that AIDS was primarily spreading among gay men everything changed completely. The demands changed from we must do everything possible to stop the spread to we must protect the privacy of individuals with AIDs. Mandatory testing to determine who had it (to prevent further spread) was ruled out. In fact, any measures that even implied AIDs was a gay disease were ruled out. The result was people died from blood transfusions because infected gay men donated blood not knowing they were carrying the disease and gay men were transmitting it to other gay men. The threat that even heterosexual people would be infected in large numbers never materialized.

I remember those days well and then AIDS/HIV found it's way into the hetrosexual community and the blood supply (as you mentioned). Pretty crazy. And there was a full court press not to stigmatize the disease or those that had it. And we handled it completely different then Covid.

That's because libtards at the time didn't realize the usefulness of politicizing it like they did two years ago with this Shamdemic

I think that is when the gay community realized how much power they had. IT marked the beginning of the alphabet mafia. I remember a case where they sued a dentist because he would not treat an AIDs patient in his office because he said he did not have the facilities to disinfect his office afterwards. I offered to treat the patient at a different facility. He was sued and lost. He was only trying to protect his other patients.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Monkeypox is not a deadly disease. I refuse to get wound up over what is essentially a STD, like genital warts. There is a solution to this mini-epidemic. Stop having promiscuous risky sex.

Correct, it is not a deadly disease like HIV. But, the pox is highly contagious, the virius last for days on surfaces that have come into contact with it. Don't stay in any shady motels. But that's good advice anyway!!

You'll wear a mask and take whatever vaccine we develop to eradicate this, and like it.

The Daddyland Festival was mentioned by name on the CH. 8 News, along with County Health officials saying an infected person visiting from out of state, went to a club in Dallas between June 22 and 25th “where he had sex with multiple people.”

Contact tracing was often stymied by infected men who said they did not know the names of all the people they had sex with. Some reported having multiple sexual interactions with strangers.

If you were truly serious about "stopping the spread"... Of Monkeypox ----- you could close all gay bars and clubs and bath houses...
