I am getting my shot this sat for first dose and april 10th for 2nd.
Why were you dragging ass? I got my vaxx 5 weeks ago. Now in Texas we're vaxxing anyone 50 years old-plus, and teachers. Our churches are mobilized going to homebound people and vaxxing them. When I got my shot it was only 1A and 1B allowed. 1A is anyone over 65 and 1B is anyone under 65 but with a chronic medical condition. I'm 1B. Now it's anyone over 50 and teachers.
I certainly hope the vaccines turn out to be safe but I do not trust something that has so little testing.
It's not a vaccine of the Salk model. It doesn't need the years of testing a Salk vaccine does. All it does is teach your body to identify as an enemy invader the spike protein the virus uses to latch on to your cells and start to incubate and multiply. It does not give you the virus itself in any form, alive dead or partial. Salk vaccines do, it's usually a form of the dead virus, with a Salk-type vaccine. This is why new strains of the same virus require booster shots. With this, the spike protein is common to all SARS viruses and hosts of others, so different variants are still protected against. If millions of vaccinated people all over the world isn't a big enough test then I don't know what to tell you. It's safe and effective. Even Donald Trump said so.

If getting the shot meant I could stop wearing masks, businesses would open, and everything would go back to normal then I might comply and get a shot for the sake of the country, but no one is promising that even if 100% of the people get vaccinated.
That's because this vaccine doesn't kill the virus or in any way attack it. It teaches your body to reject it, and it dies. But you can still catch and carry it and spread it. Over time, the virus will become extinct from not being able to multiply. Because it can no longer incubate. The vaccine isn't a magic pill that brings forth sunshine and rainbows. It stops the virus from reproducing, from using us as an incubator.

Nobody has any idea whatsoever what the long term affects are from these vaccines. I am well aware of how it works and how it is different from other vaccines. I hope you realize the companies that produce these are basically exempt from any liability. I am not scared of a virus that has 99.7% survival rate but a new technology that has zero long term testing scares me. If you volunteered to be a long term test subject then good for you. In 5 - 10 years if you have no repercussions from this then I might get it. Until then I will take my chances with the virus that I have so far managed to not catch even after living in the same house with two people (my wife and daughter) who had it. I have not let the virus deter me one bit going back to the beginning. I am out in public daily and have been maskless weeks before Abbott got his head out of his ass and lifted the stupid mandate. Heck before he lifted it I have never once even covered my nose because it drives me nuts.

Experimental Vaccine.... What do you understand about that???

You two and Kamala Harris too, who was saying "vaccine can't be trusted if Trump wins. Wasn't tested enough blah blah blah."

Had Trump won you and all the other cheap hacks would be trumpeting the long term safety of the vaccine, even saying it will bring prosperity and riches! It's really comical.

Don't be a fucking ******, who won the election has zilch to do with why I (and many others) don't really want the vaccine right now. It was developed under Trump's watch so ultimately he deserves "credit" for it if that is going to be your lame argument.

The fact is we didn't need a vaccine for this. It isn't fatal or even debilitating for pretty much everyone. Then factor in that the Nazi's calling all the shots don't want anything to return to normal even if one does get the vaccine and you get something that is a complete and utter waste of time and money.

My thoughts on these rushed vaccines would be exactly the same whether Trump would have won. I actually hope he is not making a huge mistake tying his name to them. Of course the media is all about giving Biden the credit right now but if anything were to happen they would shift on dime to blaming Trump.

Over time, the virus will become extinct from not being able to multiply. Because it can no longer incubate. The vaccine isn't a magic pill that brings forth sunshine and rainbows. It stops the virus from reproducing, from using us as an incubator.

I thought the vaccine (Pfizer and Moderna) teach the cells to produce antigens for the protein that wraps the Coronavirus, including the spikes? The antigens destroy that protein which prevents the virus from entering into human cells to reproduce. So it dies before it can produce the reactions that do the damage to the body. If so, then how could an vaccinated person ever produce enough virus to shed and infect another person? I understand scientists say they do not know how the vaccines effect transmission but isn't this true of many vaccines? I think they want vaccinated people to wear masks because if they don't unvaccinated people might not wear them either.

My issue is not with whether the vaccine prevents transmission or not. The point is only people who choose not to get vaccinated can get sick, theoretically. Isn't that their choice regardless if anyone else thinks it is the right choice or not? In my opinion, which is not worth much, the government keeps moving the goal post for what it will take to get back to normal. "2 weeks to flatten the curve" has become full eradication of the virus.

Some recipients of the Pfizer and Moderna shots have had severe allergic reactions to the vaccine which is why they make you wait for 15 minutes after receiving the shot before you can leave the vaccination facility. Given the possibility of this type of reaction, which may be deadly for some people, then why shouldn't it be their choice to get vaccinated or not?

Finally, the fact that we do not know how long the vaccine is effective is an indication we do not know the long term effects of the vaccine. Based on how it works, it doesn't sound like there should be any long term consequences, but we have been wrong about science before so caution is not unreasonable here. If the vaccine has a short duration of effectiveness we should get used to the idea that the number of vaccinations will decrease with each round, just like we have seen with flu vaccinations.

Totally agreed and never wavered one bit from that. I'm also of the "my body my choice" crowd when it comes to ANY drug. Even Meth and Heroin, LSD, whatever it is. Forcing people to take the vaccine? I'm opposed to that but it will be wrangled in court.

I totally respect anyone's decision in this regard. Just to be clear.

So, you wouldn't fall into the category I defined. But millions do.

City Slickers with cammers came into an area that went 98 percent Trump, asking about if they wanna take the vaccine. Many said "no, now that Trump lost. I don't trust Joe Biden."

So, let's not pretend this doesn't exist. It does.
I saw where Trump was asking people to trust and take the virus, and how safe it was....
I'm all for Trump, but he, nor any other former President is not my deciding factor of whether or not to take the experimental vaccine.

Actually many Trump fans are capable of Independent thought..

Almost everyone I know voted for Trump, and far less than half are saying (or admitting) they got the vaccine.

Not one of them have made the fucking lame statement you just made. Their rationale was almost identical to mine or CML's. Does what you claim "exist", maybe. Is it the reason most are choosing to NOT get it, fuck no.

Like I said, it was a fucking retarded point you made.

Don’t comment much on y’all’s stuff here , but all regions are different. Out here in Commiefornia , I just finished up on my second dose. I was lucky & got it sooner than I was supposed to because of a glitch in the system here. I used to live in the Tx panhandle. Borger to be exact. I’m surprised , but glad they are doing their part there to help everyone. It’s just a different animal in a very large populated area like so Cal.
