IMO, week 1 was a failure of common sense, particularly on O - it's built for play action deep - not dink and dunk

whatever you may think of Dak, if you were calling plays for this team as is ...
would you roll out and go deep about twice a quarter?
how about a read option / QB draw / QB sweep about once a quarter?

game specific, if it was obvious by the end of Q1 your LG and RT can't pass block ...
would you throw slants to Lamb and Wilson? back shoulder to Lamb and Gallup vs any 1 on 1?
would you look for Elliott or Pollard in the flats vs anybody?
max protection send Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb deep-post-deep and hang it?

all the talk of putting players in positions to do what they do best - looks to be just talk

I certainly would have done this on that 4th and 3. Dak would likely gotten the first down.

The HC and wunderkind OC are religously following metrics and forgetting important things like momentum and the human element of the game. We had the Rams D reeling but metrics told them to sit their #1 threat and stop doing what was beating the D.

McCarthy himself even said he went with the metrics for his decision to go for it on that 4th and 3. No word yet on what Helen Keller Moore used to choose a 2 yard play to get 3.

I don't have any issue with a team playing aggressive, especially early in the game. Make a statement.......

You know the Red Dolt would have taken the points. Going for it there didn't cost us the game.....

I would have as well. This was late in the game where we needed points.

My issue isn't going for it there, that's fine. My issue is how we got in that spot and then the silly play call to try to get it.

I agree.

I also didnt have a problem with the play call or design. Lamb is/was well known for tremendous RAC skills and strength.

The Rams DB made a tremendous open field tackle. 7 or 8 times out of 10 that play probably works and we easily convert.

Hats off to the guy, he made a great play. They tackled better than us the entire game.

I didn't think it was silly at all. Just have to tip your hat the the Rams DB for making a tremendous open field tackle.

Lamb's RAC and leg strength was stuff of legend at OU. Looked like a well designed play and as I noted above, I bet 7 or 8 times out of 10 that play easily works.

Think of it another way. if they had run the exact same play vs us, what do you think the result would have been?

What a bunch of assclowns at CZ. Starting another rue thread over not trading for Jamal Adams. They cite all these greats stats he had from the game. I didnt see any of it and he had a lot of tackles, a couple TFL's and a sack. But he had zero passes defensed and the Falcons had over 500 yards of offense, Ryan had 450 yds passing and the Falcons had 3 separate 100+ yard receivers.

For comparison purposes, last yr Seattle ranked near the bottom of the league in total defense and scoring defense, giving up 380+ yds per game and nearly 25.0 pts per game.

And yet those dipshits are acting like the guy took over the game and was basically why Seattle won and will win the Super Bowl now. Not a single mention over in that threat at dipshit zone about the Seahags scoring 38 pts or Wilson throwing for 4 tds and no picks. It was all jamal Adams. Dipshit Zoner "I have no doubt we beat the Rams if we had Jamal Adams"

Fucktards.

Against those renowned Big-12 defenses he faced! Ell-Ohh-Ell! It's still open in my mind if he can cut it against NFL defenses. Didn't learn much on that front Sunday.

We took NO shots at the end zone from the red area. ALL dink and dunk shit. Everything timid. Including that play.
Think of it another way. if they had run the exact same play vs us, what do you think the result would have been?
Yeah we saw that in practice remember? Lamb raping our shit secondary. Says more about our shit secondary than it does about Lamb. As I was saying at the time.

Against a half decent secondary in Sunday night's game, he really didn't do much. And even disappeared for long stretches.

Looked like a well designed play
Hope was the plan. Hope he can break it big. Hope they haven't fucking seen this same shit different receiver all last year. Hope they aren't scouting Helen Keller Moore's playcalling tendencies. Hope the opponent makes a mistake.

It's our entire philosophy. Hope. Stay timid and hope for the best.

And by the way this new-age "collision-free" football sure is hard on LVE. Like somebody said.

1st down up the gut runs into loaded boxes? 14 of those Sunday night. Wrap your head around that. Fourteen. Can't play-action there, and chuck one deep on 'em every now and then, gotta just keep running into the teeth of the D that knows it's coming.

In the same thread "The Seahawks just got the best defensive player in the NFL not named Aaron Donald"

This is why anyone who invites Zoners here should get some sort of public flogging or something.
