Jay Glazer saying Dak isn't asking for 40, it'll be Mahomes getting that, and the Dak camp recognizes league and SB MVP is a higher tier. Glazer also saying there is no way we trade Dak or expose him to the market, and a deal WILL get done.

Glazer's pretty reliable and no nonsense, so it's safe to bet on his take unfortunately.

Jay is late to the party

I’ve been saying the same shit for well over a year, maybe more

Count me in that group. I wonder if we should have kicked the tires on Bo Levi Mitchell or drafted Will Grier. What might we have in Mike White? Prescott's accuracy is troubling. Thoughts?
Why not trade Dak straight up to the Bengals for the first pick and draft Burrow? You can still sign Brady for a year or two if he’s willing to make the move to Dallas. I personally would be fine with starting Burrow from day one. We could then keep Amari, Quinn, Cobb, Bryon... Another option, trade Dak to Miami for the 5th and 18th pick, draft Hebert and you still get the safety at 18. You can still add Brady and all the other free agents. Is this possible under Dak’s contract?

Do the Bengals not entertain this?
Do you really think they or anyone else would trade for a guy they then have to immediately PAY a huge contract to, when they can draft a guy and only have to pay him a couple mil a year on a 4 year rookie deal?

Put down the bong.

What, and I can't stress this enough, the actual fuck?
Been around long enough to know there are no sure bets in the draft, but I'd be greatly surprised if Burrow isn't exactly the guy he looked like last year, except dialed back while he adjusts to the NFL.
I'd also be surprised if the Bengals don't already have his draft day jersey ready to go and have a street in Cincinnati named after him.
Burrows will be a Bengal soon.
Dak will a Cowboy still. He's getting his money.

I missed all this idiocy from earlier:
But you managed to change the subject after I proved your point wrong
Completely dodging my point because again I proved you wrong.
You haven't proved jack shit, except for your total inability to read posts, and habit of quoting posts out of context in order to erect a straw man. Like trolls do.
has an offense that is gimmicky garbage
It's the same offense, jackass. It's even all the same plays and terminology. Same route trees. Same blocking schemes. Nothing about it has changed except with a mobile QB, some designed runs for him were added. That was a big part of the problem all along.
Both Dez and Williams put up less yardage with Dak and Romo. That is no coincidence.
ZEKE. ZEKE getting the touches. Is why we weren't throwing as much to the other receivers. That and we were RUNNING THE BALL more than we were throwing. The days of the QB throwing 48 times every week went away. Until last year.
Saying "Well Dez was just one dimensional" and "Williams caught a higher percentage of passes" is ignoring the fact that their production dropped. And these were the Top 2 receivers on the team at one point.
Nobody's ever ignored the fact that their production dropped. Here you are again, making a false argument. Attacking your own straw. I stated two FACTS that weren't at all in relation to why their production dropped, and never at any point ignored that fact.

It WAS the same offense. This year it wasn't. Hence, the offensive coordinator change.

Then how come Dez and Williams' stats weren't effected by the 25 carry a game Demarco season? The last season Romo was healthy we actually ran the ball more than we ever have with Zeke and those guys numbers were STILL better with Romo.

By bringing up other things you tried to weave your way out of your point being proven false. That was obvious and I caught it. Contrary to what you think, I read the posts.

Are you really this ignorant? Helen Keller Moore GOT the job you imbecile, because he "knows our system." The system never changed. Still won't. McCarthy no doubt will tweak it quite a bit. But it's NOT Moore's system. Its the same one we have run for 10 fucking years!
Aw, I thought you waved the white flag cause you had enough.
That's your actual M.O. Post so much insipid nonsensical bullshit that people just stop replying.

put together a bunch of tweets from VoiceOfTheStar (CBS sports writer for dallas cowboys):

Based on discussions I’ve had w/ sources keyed into the team’s thought process and others with knowledge of the talks, this is my understanding of the latest re: #Cowboys dialogue w/ Dak Prescott... Including echoes of my own previous reports on the situation:

The team never wanted to invoke the franchise tag, and still don’t, but will as a placeholder if need be — giving them until mid-July to work out an extension with the franchise QB. One sticking point is the team wants a longer termed deal beyond four or five years..

But Prescott wants financial concessions to make that worth accepting, seeing as he might not then be able to land one more big money reup under the new CBA (assuming it lands as expected). Otherwise, he’d take the more traditional 4-5 year agreement...

The #Cowboys don’t want to revisit this in 2023, though. And especially not if he has a SB win by then. I expect an AAS on a traditional extension to touch down b/t $37M-$40M range — less if years are added & agreed upon (but then likely more guaranteed *money* is awarded).

Avoiding the tag is win-win, b/c it:

1. Guarantees Prescott is present for ALL offseason conditioning & the acclimation to Mike McCarthy’s offensive installations (extremely important) because, yes, it’s expected Prescott will remain absent w/ if no l/t *money* in place.

2. It leaves the franchise tag free for Amari Cooper, who is currently much farther behind in contract talks than is Prescott. While true they have access to both tags in 2020, they’d like to use a trickle-down effect...

And have the latter available for Byron Jones in the event they determine using it is the right course of action (it would help determine market value). They want to keep Jones, but I’m told it doesn’t nearly equal how badly they’d like to keep Robert Quinn...

The feeling being they could possibly double dip at DB in the 2020 draft. This means if there’s a bidding war for Jones, they’re out, and are willing to not use a tag at all (if available) if they see an intriguing prospect as a possible replacement.

As far as Quinn goes, they believe they can get something done with him (2-3 years, easy out after 2?). They will have some competition in the market for him. I’m told a few teams are ready to call and find out his price, and RQ wants to he an every down rusher.

It’s fair to categorize their thoughts on Jones vs. Quinn as a “tug-of-war”, of sorts. If the team misplays their hand, however, they might lose both. Cap space is projected near $90M, but attrition but releases plus likely pay cut(s)..

I get the sense Tyrone Crawford will be amicable to one, for example — can drive it to near $100M in space. So yes, they can afford the key mentioned players and still have a chunky sum left over for Tier-B FAs and draft pick signings...

But the team is still trying to work within their usual framework of frugality, for better or for worse. It’s not about affordability. And it never was. It’s about value assessments.

Footnote: They want Sean Lee to return, but he’s curious as to what offers (and potential playing time) he’d get elsewhere. That said, he still has a heavy lean (right now) on staying put and there’s a seat for him at the table.

Jason Witten, however, finds himself an odd man out in the regime change, with no attractive role having been offered. Witten still views himself as a starter, but it appears the sun has set on that idea with McCarthy here.

Regardless of how well Dak performs in the Regular Season, I am not convinced that he has what it takes to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a Championship Game, much less a SB Game.

I'd be happy for Dak to prove me Wrong.

I hope Dak doesn't take this advice but I'd bet his agents are filling his head with this BS. This team had to go out and trade a 1st round pick for Cooper to help Dak and then sign Zeke to big money. Add the resources spent on the OL and we still missed the playoffs.

If Dak wants to sit out the season, so be it. If he wants to hold out and not get acclimated to the new coaching and any tweaks to the offensive system, so be it. The Cowboys will draft another QB next year. I'd also bet they draft a QB this year for MM to work with.

Would all you Dak haters be willing to give up what it would take to trade up and take Burrows at #1 overall?

I’m not sure what exactly we would have to give up, but it would entail trading Dak, giving up at least next years 1st rounder, probably the following years as well along with 1 or two 2nd rounders (this is just a guess, I have no fucking clue what it would really take to move up to 1st overall pick. But needless to say it will be a hefty price tag)

Would you be willing to do it to get Burrows?

It's not even worthy of discussion. NOBODY is going to trade for Dak knowing THEY have to pay him on a big contract. Not when they can draft their guy and pay him on a 4 year rookie deal on the cheap. There's not a deal that can be made, for that. No matter how sweet you make it.

Former Falcons QB Steve Bartowski recently advised Burrow to "pull a Manning" on draft day.
Even though Mike Brown is still the boss, Zac Taylor is a former QB coach, and a decent one by all accounts. I'd be greatly surprised if Burrow isn't a Bengal. I mean AJ Green and a solid 2wr with Mixon in the backfield? GTFOH. You might get Dalton, though.
Whoever tries to get that #1 pick away from the Bengals better not be fucking around.
Like Dooms already said, it would be a reverse Walker deal.
Dak's getting paid, y'all.
