Same here, I've never been impressed with him. Think his daddy is pretty much the only reason he has the reputation he does.

Weddle is being considered because he is from San Diego and he an RKG through a Norv proxy.
Thornton is a rich man's Hayden but getting another big beefy run stuffing double teaming 1-tech similar to Ian Williams or Rubin IS necessary.
And does anyone really know Chris Long? And the answer to that is: Yes I have known about him for years.

thornton looks to be a lot more than Hayden plus as regards run stopping ability; and does seem to be able to push the pocket at least some. If Crawford finally lives up to his contract then we have a good middle of a D line.

Beginning of this offseason I figured we would take a shot at him.. It would be nice if Jerry can woo him. Byron Jones learning Safety from Weddle would be great. Plus, I'm so sick of safeties that can't cover for shit.

The Patriots are bringing veteran DE Chris Long to town for a visit and workout on Monday, according to ESPN's Trey Wingo. Long played the first eight years of his career with the Rams and would reportedly like to sign with a contender. The Patriots are deep at DE with Chandler Jones, Rob Ninkovich, Jabaal Sheard and 2015 draft picks Geneo Grissom (third round) and Trey Flowers (fourth round) returning. Jones, Ninkovich and Sheard all enter the final year of their contracts.
