Joseph Randle facing suspension for violating NFL's personal conduct policy

Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle is on the verge of being suspended 1-2 games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, reports NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. The impending suspension will serve as punishment for an offseason incident involving police.

In February Randle was arrested in Wichita, Kan., for unlawful possession of marijuana. According to the police report, authorities received a call from the mother of Randle's son, who said that Randle broke a car window during an argument and threatened her and her son with a gun.

It's the presence of a gun is which will lead to the suspension, according to Rapoport.

In April, the charges against Randle were dropped, but the NFL met with Randle over the summer to determine if he had violated the league's personal conduct policy. It conducted its own investigation, and over the last week the league decided that Randle indeed had, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Todd Archer.

That was the second time in four months that Randle had been arrested, which no doubt contributed to league's decision to hand down punishment. Last October, he was arrested for shoplifting underwear and cologne.

Randle, 23, was taken by the Cowboys out of Oklahoma State in the fifth round of the 2013 draft. He was named the team's starter this season, and has ran for 313 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 4.1 yards per carry.

In recent weeks, however, Randle has been dealing with an oblique injury. Earlier this week Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced that Darren McFadden would be starting the Dallas' Week 8 matchup against the Seahawks.

Good
At least that will help keep McFadden on as the primary back and get us away from this RBBC bullshit

Hopefully McFadden can build upon last weeks success and have another 150 yard game. That should be enough to prove to the coaches that it's a much better option than the RBBC approach

They could cut him or drag him across the floor like a school girl on a cell phone and I could give two poops. He's a mental midget with marginal talent , behavioral issues, and easily replaceable.

Having said that seems odd timing for the NFL power hand to rise up and say there could be a suspension pending for something that happened in February. Kinda seems like an odd coincidence that coaching staff loses trust, magical oblique injury, temper tantrum knowing your no longer starting, and then boom it just seems about the right time to suspend you now because the moment feels right.

The timing was suspect
Either way I'm glad McFadden is starting

At least we had a running game last week for the first time all season

Running back Joseph Randle remains away from the Dallas Cowboys as he continues to address personal issues and bizarre behaviors that has the team concerned about his wellness.

He has not been in practice, meetings or rehab since bolting from the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch headquarters on Wednesday worrying about the safety of his girlfriend.

Randle had already been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks because of a strained oblique that been bothering him since training camp.

Randle’s return to the team is up in the air because of his personal issues as well as an ongoing NFL investigation into a domestic violence incident from last February. No charges were ever filed in the case but he could be disciplined under the personal conduct policy.

Owner Jerry Jones said on his radio show Friday on 105.3 FM The Fan that the league was reviewing the matter today.

“No. This would be way ahead of that type consideration. So the answer is no relative to I think the team,” Jones said when asked if Randle’s status was in jeopardy. “The NFL is reviewing at this time, as a matter of fact today, reviewing his issue he had last spring in Wichita that cleared the legal and cleared the law enforcement of Wichita , but still the NFL’s conduct policy has other aspects to it and so they’ve been reviewing that. That could have some consequences.”

Wait, what? Was this known before now? I know I hadn't heard that.

You have to cut him if true.

Right now this looks like the worst of the Jerry Jones-Pacman/Tank Johnson love affairs where the players can do literally anything with no repercussions.

There's an article up somewhere saying Cowher and Troy Aikman both are saying that publicly, that basically Jones the enabler is going full speed again.

I was listening when Troy said that. Basically he was pretty disgusted that Hardy got to slap a clipboard out of the ST coach's hands with nothing but praise, but said that's the way it's been for over 20 years since Jimmy left.

Maybe we will get lucky and the media will keep harping on the incident and totally blow it out of proportion to a point where Jerry has to fire Carrot Top to save face

Maybe that's how Garret finally gets fired

Because loosing five straight games of which four were winnable is apparently not enough to do it
