Exactly. No experienced coach with solid veterans would risk all of this just to put a cute little drive together in the preseason opener. It accomplishes nothing.

He took another hit. Probably wasn't good for him.

He seemed fine though when he talked to the tv crew in the game.

Oh well no witten for awhile.

He did not take another hit.

Dez didn't play 3rd series. I just watched

Well brees, Brady and roethlisburger got the shit knocked out of him and stayed in for more series.

Brady took the worst hit of the weekend and stayed in.

Yeah, because we are so much better offensively than NO and NE that our offense shouldnt be playing preseason.

You guys are pussies

You guys want a team that's tough as nails but you want the coach to tell them they're only playing 2snaps bc they might get hurt.

Witten and Romo dont need some preseason opener to prove how tough they are.

Jimmy would play Emmitt one series max (or not at all) and I don't recall anyone having an issue with it.

The preseason opener is not the time to test your highest paid veteran leaders.

That patchwork oline was getting torn to shreds. Not a good situation for guys like Romo and Witten.

Even the play where Witten got injured was during a breakdown after the oline collapsed. Romo scrambled and found him in the flat completely exposed. Nothing good is gonna come from stuff like that.

How long will Witten be out for if he has surgery?

"Indefinitely" is what they're saying but patients usually recover after 4-6 weeks.

Chris Simms never came back from his spleen injury though. So it really depends on the individual case.

I am not a Garrett fan, but i don’t see how you can blame him for Witten’s injury. This team is soft as fuck. Too many years of worrying about preseason injuries for a team that has no spine or toughness to finish the season strong.

Cowboys just waived center/guard Bill Nagy, who had a high-ankle sprain. The team officially placed him on Waived/Injured. TE coming soon

Witten played with a broken jaw his rookie year.

I don't know the severity of a spleen injury, but could it be that much worse than a punctured lung?

Wouldn't suprise me if Witten rested the next few weeks, and then wore some sort of Kevlar vest like Romo wore to protect his midsection and played week 1.

This front office is THE worst.

They only value skilled positions. This is why we've been watching a losing product for 16+ years.

They'll put just any piece of junk in front of their franchise QB, but they have to have 29 tight ends in camp.
