I envy David's enthusiasm for the team.

I was like that when I was ten too.

No, no I noticed your tone changing in the Raiders game thread. It's okay, we need Homers too, dbair looks less ridiculous when you guys are around.

I'm kidding, dbair still looks ridiculous.

You sound like you have an anti-Dallas "agenda," like Broaddus and Sturm.

Mickey said yesterday that he was told there was a quota of 12 plays for those guys and they played 11.

Yet DEz was not required? Why because he is jerrys golden boy.

This is terrible and it's on garrett's shoulders.

I don't like the way you are putting it but it seems pretty damn true.

I'm not sure how you can place a quota on plays like that. Sure, have a target amount but if it's not in the cards, move the fuck on.

Dallas Cowboys doctors informed tight end Jason Witten he will not need spleen surgery that would have ended his season, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The bleeding in Witten's spleen has subsided, and doctors believe it now will heal on its own.

Witten still is aiming to return in time for the Cowboys' Sept. 5 regular-season opener against the New York Giants

Bumping old thread. Infract as necessary.

That report on witten from Adam shefter is bogus.

The fan just talked to witten and he has not even seen the doctor yet.....not out of the woods yet.

I bet shefter doesn't correct himself either.

Witten Won't Need Surgery

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter says Jason Witten will not need surgery on his spleen.

5 regular-season opener against the New York Giants, but it is questionable whether he will be ready to play.

Witten is more likely to play in Week 2, when the Cowboys play at Seattle on Sept. 16.

Losing Witten would have been a major blow to an offense that relies on him heavily in the run and passing games. He has become the go-to guy for quarterback Tony Romo, catching 409 passes for 4,824 yards and 21 touchdowns since Romo took over as the starter in 2006.

He has missed only one game in his career because of a fractured jaw as a rookie in 2003, and has played through a broken rib, knee and ankle injuries.

Information from ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer was used in this report.

Report: Jason Witten may miss opener with Giants

As David Moore reported on Aug. 15, Jason Witten not need to have surgery on his lacerated spleen. According to ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter, the bleeding has subsided and doctors believe Witten’s spleen will heal on its own.

Schefter reported that had Witten needed surgery it would have ended his season.

Although Witten hopes to return for the team’s season opener Sept. 5 against the New York Giants, Schefter said it’s more likely that the seven-time Pro Bowl selection won’t play until Week 2 in Seattle on Sept. 16.

Did they say anything to him about being unlikely to play week 1?

I mean, clearly, he has no idea bc he hasn't even seen a doctor but did he say anything at all about week 1?

No idea, witten didn't talk on the radio.

Mickey spagnola told richie Whitt that he talked to witten and he has heard nothing, hasn't seen the doctor yet.

Mike fisher followed up with statement that national report(shefter) is giving out bad info.....and that he will see doctor in Dallas.
