third series..am I wrong? Was DEz in there on that final drive?

I don’t have a problem with the Cowboy starters going 3 series. Not like these guys are defending World Champions or anything. They need the work. I also don’t see why any of it is Garretts fault. Witten has takin shots like that before can came up ok. Not a big deal, he will be read for the start of the season. Not like he and Romo need to get on the same page.

Of all players, Witten and Romo need the least amount of work. Even the QB-center exchange shit doesn't not require preseason game time to master.

The purpose of that game should have been to evaluate youngs guys and assess for roster cuts.

If it were the third dress rehearsal game, sure. But for the very first preseason game? Just let the guys play a series, get their feet slightly wet, and get out.

And even if you planned to play them more, when you see Romo dodging rushers and then almost getting smashed by a 320 lb lineman, you change plans and get your guys the hell out of there. You gain nothing from the first preseason game, but you can lose a hell of a lot.
