Not sure how much he has left in the tank, but I strangely feel a lot better about our line now.

I read he basically hasnt played in two years, and earlier this year quit playing because he didnt love the game anymore.

Not sure what kind of shape he can be in, but for anyone to assume he'll walk in and be an upgrade from day one is probably naive.

i dont think anybidy expects him to be a probowl player but Dallas needs somebody to be able to hike the ball.

It shouldn't have taken an injury to Costsa. There should have been an upgrade brought in much earlier. Costa being one of the worst players on the team should have been enough.

I'm not sure Jackson is a big upgrade, but I'm much more willing to go into a season with hope, rather than knowing the center position is doomed with Costa playing.

There was Kowalski what he showed last yr im sure Dallas wanted to go young and wanted to have a battle but Kowalski got injured. So Dallas wanted Costa to step up. Callahan liked what he saw and im sure input from him up the chain of command played a big part in Dallas not going for somebody.

Nagy is done for the year in Dallas.

Guess they are going to waive him and then put him on IR if he isn't claimed by another team.

OXNARD, Calif. – Before departing for Oakland on Sunday, the Cowboys are expected to finalize a one-year deal with veteran center Jamaal Jackson, helping to ease the strain caused by a slew of injuries at the position.

To make room, they waived/injured one of the centers who had been hurt, last year’s seventh-round pick, Bill Nagy. Under that designation, Nagy will be exposed to a waiver claim for 24 hours. If no team picks him up, the Cowboys will retain his rights and place him on the Injured Reserve, ending his season.

Nagy, who was not a starter at the end of his career at Wisconsin, impressed the Cowboys during training camp last year, earning a starting nod on opening night. He started four games near the beginning of 2011, but was lost for the year when he broke his left ankle at New England.

Nagy had opened training camp this year in a competition with Phil Costa for the first-team center job, but suffered a high left ankle sprain after just a couple days of practice. He is visiting foot and ankle specialist Dr. Bob Anderson in Charlotte, and is expected to require serious surgery.

The three-day clock for Jackson to join the team in practice will begin when he is signed Sunday. Monday will also count, since it is a game day, but Tuesday is not the third day since the players are off. He will not be eligible to practice until Thursday.

The team is also believed to be interested in making another addition at center.

I agree. The team's general apathy about their OL is frustrating to see.
