It sux Nagy and Kowalski both got hurt, because I do think either of them would have won the C job and been an upgrade over Costa.

That said, its hard to label them "injury prone" when they've both only been in the league a year.

What does it say about Kowalski and Nagy that they are not better than one of the worst centers in football?

What does it say about our GM that he didnt bring in anyone to compete with him. Remember Livings and Bernadeaux were brought in to play guard

Not sure I understand your statement. They didnt get a chance to show anything. Nagy got hurt on day one and Kowalski was on PUP before TC started.

I dunno, maybe they felt strongly that one of the three young guys would be good enough. They also always said Bernadeau was a fall back option at C, unfortunately he missed all offseason and the first week or so of camp with his surgery.

In Nagy's defense though, mopeds are extremely dangerous. Should be outlawed, really.

He had all last year to show himself until.... oh yeah, he got hurt.

That's the problem. Our FO is too god damn lazy to go out and make sure there is good competition in camp. We sit back on our laurels and pray to Allah that what we have already is good enough.

Regardless, though, we let ourselves get in this situation. Jerry allowed us to come in to camp with Costa (who sucks) and Nagy and Kowalski (both injury prone) as our hope at the center position. It's ridiculous, and defending it makes you look like an idiot.

Not sure where you are getting that Kowalski is injury-proned, because as far as I know, this was the first time he's been injured. Nagy on the otherhand... I see your point.

I actually meant Nagy and Costa are injury prone.

Does anyone find it odd that Callahan hasn't brought in anyone he has ties to? That is fairly typical move even if you just get some help from some guy experienced in your system.

Am I missing someone.....I don't think they've brought anyone in with previous ties to Callahan?

3 players at the position would have been a good competition. All of them getting hurt, not so much.

He supposedly had alot of input in bringing in Livings and Bernadeau.

As for bringing in guys he has worked with, whats former Jets OL are available? I dont know of any right now.

Not when 2 of them have shown injury prone and the 3rd is a wish upon a star type player.

That's not competition. That's prayer.

Again, labeling first yr players "injury prone" is stupid IMO

They might go the next 10 years of their career and never get hurt, are they injury prone then?

Was Michael irvin injury prone? he spent alot of his first 3 seasons recovering from knee injuries. Ken Norton was hurt often early too, was he injury prone?

You must have missed my post earlier when I corrected myself with Nagy and Costa are injury prone. Or you ignored it trying to make a dumb point. Regardless, comparing these 3 JAGs to Irvin and Norton shows you are reaching. Both Irvin and Norton showed great promise early in their career and in their college career. Not so much with this group. So, keep on being the insufferable homer you are. It's the only reason you are a mod here.

Its amazing how guys playing last yr for the first time in the nfl with no offseason are labeled as garbage by some of you. They learned on the fly. They had games where they looked good and some games they looked bad but the majority of the games they showed they were just enough. Hell i know there werent games that you can say god the OL just lost that game. It wasnt that bad. That was the defense. Dallas scored plenty of points throughout the yr to make the playoffs. Too bad the DEFENSE let this team down.

Now on to Costa, its clear to the Cowboys he has gotten better. Callahan seems to think so and thats what Im sure the Cowboys are basing their judgement on. Not his play during basically his first yr of play. He struggled in his first yr, that doesnt mean he wouldnt improve in his second. To those saying Dallas didnt bring anybody in to compete. Shit thats what Kowalski was for. He's hurt right now but he's coming back. Nagy was supposed to be the 3rd center. Insurance Policy.

Right now at this very moment im not happy that they havent signed anybody atleast a camp body instead of depending on Arkin. But like people have said its hard to find people right now because as its been said 320 fewer players to choose from. But its clear the Cowboys are looking.
