It doesn't matter if it's a 7th.
We don't need a starting WR. We need a cheap slot guy.
Its stupid because, if true, they are willing to throw money and resources at WR, when the interior oline and safety positions are a wreck.
We need a 55 million dollar WR? Is that really a pressing need?
Exactly. WR isn't even close to a need for us. Miles and Dez are as good a pair as you'd ever need, and some vet will shake loose at some point if we think we need a better third guy. We should be looking for centers and safeties and even TEs before another WR.It doesn't matter if it's a 7th.

We'd have like 7 wheels, an engine, but no frame.

I have to say, when I first read the rumor earlier, I gave it like a 3% chance of happening. Thinking about it for a while, I think this could actually be a possibility.
It screams of desperation on Jerry's part. The old bastard wants to win another one before he takes a dirt nap.
Dez or Miles are as good as gone next year. Dez more than likely.
Sad but true.
Also, why not trust in the same pro personnel department that hit aces with Robinson and Fiametta last year?
Like ThoughtExperiment said, at some point in time, a young guy will get cut. We've seen it with Dezmond Briscoe already. There will be others.
Man, the more I think about this, the more i think it's just media guys speculating. When was the last time a name player didn't come available that we were rumored to be interested in?[/QUOTE]
i think this is absolutely the biggest bullshit in all of sports...
we arent that god damned important..
i can probably name a thousand players
not sure why this has to be the case..dez isnt making much money..why do we have to get rid of him if we get wallace? makes no sense to me
Wallace wouldn't be the number three rec. lol
if there were a center/safety or guard the quality of wallace holding out and the team just washing there hands of him I would imagine we would have interest there also....
but none of those exist and if the motto of always churning the roster to get better is more than a saying then I imagine if what it took to get him was low I dont think it would be wrong.
but if its like a 1,2 or 3 there is no point in even discussing it....anything after that and yea its worth talking about.
having said that, There will be a bunch of veteran free agents released over the next 5 weeks so if we are stuck I am sure they will figure it out at some point.
Yahoo sports is reporting that he could be had for a 4th. Shit i wouldnt cry if it even costed a 2.
if all it took was a 4 there would be tons of teams lining up which in turn would make the price go up...
and most importantly someone has to sign him.....we dont have much cap space, although jenkins could come off the books....
its really a fascinating thing........Will the cowboys be scared because it didnt work out with williams in 08? Or would they be excited because it worked perfectly with robinson......not giving anything up obviously.
yeah I am not so sure they want to be heavy salary wise at wr again...
the one thing that does pop up in my mind though is that everything I have read and everything I have heard has brought up competition in practice and camp....competition is the early buzzword for this camp......almost every position there is competition.
austin and bryant have both been hurt, they both had drops and bryant made mental mistakes.........having wallace there would add competition that coale/harris/beasley/holmes/ogletree would not....
also, I think olgletree would be the one cut if something like this were to happen.
