Lot of fags in Tempe.

is this a joke? I haven't really noticed that element here (not that I would have an issue with it). Coming from Los Angeles to the ultra-conservative Arizona area, I don't really see that as much now.

Scottsdale is incredibly nice. It's like Orange County (the elite part) back in Cali.

Lots of money in Scottsdale.

Record 98 underclassmen declare

Updated: January 19, 2014,

NEW YORK -- A record 98 underclassmen, including Johnny Manziel and Jadeveon Clowney, have made themselves eligible for the NFL draft in May.

The NFL announced Sunday that 98 underclassmen were granted eligibility for the 2014 draft. That's the most ever, smashing last year's record.

The league released the list of early entrants Sunday and said the number has risen six straight seasons. The deadline for underclassmen to apply was Jan. 15.

Last year, 73 underclassmen entered the draft. The year before it was 65, and in 2011 it was 56.

Also, four players who recently graduated and still have eligibility left are joining the draft class but aren't included in the number. Most notable among those is Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Southern California defensive back Dion Bailey, Arizona State linebacker Carl Bradford and Alabama linebacker Adrian Hubbard are also juniors who have informed the league they have graduated.

Among the early entrants expected to be selected near the top of the draft are Manziel, the Texas A&M quarterback, Clowney, the defensive end from South Carolina, and Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins.

The draft is May 8-10 in New York.

LSU for the second straight season had the most players of any school to leave early. The Tigers had seven early entrants this season, including wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., after 11 LSU players left early last year.

Alabama and Southern California each had five leave early, along with California. Cal, which went 1-11, has six players listed among the early entrants, but that includes defensive end Chris McCain, who was dismissed from the team in September.

National champion Florida State lost four players early, including All-American defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who caught the winning touchdown in the BCS National Championship against Auburn. Notre Dame, Florida and South Carolina also had four early entrants.

Mel Kiper gives us poor draft grade right after draft = These guys are stupid.

Mel Kiper regrades draft after season and gives us higher grade = Proof that Jerry is killing it!

I thought Kiper gave us a C or or something right after the draft.

Not that I care, because grading drafts the day after they happen is pretty lame.

1.59 sec 10 yard split for Aaron Donald at 285 lbs. Only .03 difference from Clowney. Please don't draft him, Cowboys.

Aaron Donald’s also opening eyes with his 40

Posted by Darin Gantt on February 24, 2014, 9:24 AM EST

Jadeveon Clowney isn’t the only physical freak among the defensive linemen working out today at the Scouting Combine.

Pitt defensive tackle Aaron Donald just ran his first 40-yard dash in an unofficial 4.65 seconds.

At 290 pounds.

Even when that one’s inevitably rounded down a bit, that’s still stretching the laws of physics. When you multiply force times acceleration, it will make Donald a high pick anyway.

But the short-area acceleration which is so vital for defensive linemen is where you get a real sense of Donald’s burst. His 10-yard split was 1.59 seconds, a hair behind Clowney’s 1.56, for a guy carrying an extra 25 pounds.

That is going to earn Donald a lot of comparisons to players such as Bengals All-Pro Geno Atkins, and guarantee that unlike Atkins, he won’t have to wait until the fourth round.

My sources (boozeman and carphalen) suggest Chicago and Giants would want him. Plus teams behind us that would consider trading up.

They might, although the Giants have plenty of other holes too.

And you never know, if Marinelli becomes 100% sold on the guy being a big time difference maker for us, perhaps we move up a few spots to make sure we get him.
