it was interference, not faceguarding

I wish I could embed Tweets here, but I saw one that showed Hitchens actually hitting Pettigrew's arm to get his hand off of his facemask. He has a right to do that. And he couldn't turn to look for the ball because, well, someone had his facemask.

he didn't have time to turn for the ball because he was beat. his only chance was to put his arms up, deflect the ball and not make contact with Pettigrew. two out of three ain't bad.

It was absolutely my favorite moment from yesterday's game.
Mine was Leon Lett with Lawrence after his redemption. Second was the Hitch at the end, twice. Third was Tony's ground pounder.

Again, he made contact to get his hand off of his facemask. He is allowed to do that.

They are calling it "Romoing". Yes, there is already a term for it.

What we take from this what few people will actually admit - NFL officials suck and always have sucked. We have instant replay because they suck, we have official review because they suck, and we have challenge flags because they suck.

Yep. He had no idea where the ball was and he ran though the receiver. If he hadn't made contact he'd have been okay... We see that play happen fairly often. But he did.

Again, that didn't cost the Lions the game -- I think we win regardless. But that was a horrible call.

So Pettigrew grabbing the facemask and extending his arms into Hitchens was ok, but nothing Hitchens did was, right?
