We're trading up in this years draft...

Don't you get that feeling?

Like, that 27 is kind of no mans land? Theres a significant talent drop off in most drafts between 8-15. By then, most of the players considered impact guys are gone.

With how this year played out, and with how the franchise probably thinks they're a frogs hair away from a Super Bowl... I can see us trading #27 along with picks in this draft, or even next years first rounder, to try and move up and get one of the elites.

I can easily see that happening. I'm not sure I'm a fan of it, but I think trading away a future #1 isn't as bad an idea as most do.

I think it clears up some extra cap space for use on free agents, not as much as it used to with the new rookie cap in place, but a bit.

If they do move up then they need to keep getting the right guys like the last couple of years and not whiff on another db

I'd only be a fan of trading up and giving away next years 1 for a dominant pass rusher or a franchise QB.

Because honestly, Romo is getting up there and his midsection is jelly after multiple rib, collarbone, and back injuries. You could say it for all players, but with his age and injury history, he's a big hit in the wrong place away from going to the glue factory. So we might need our #1 next year to pick a QB.

Except, there's none of those to be had in this draft.

But yeah, you almost gotta trade up since it's fiscally the right choice and yes there are some really good DLs in this draft.

Question is, will Jerruh and co. be addressing that need.

All that cat needs is a good offseason of rest, healing and rehab and he'll be stout as a oak.

I hope not.

Stay out and build the roster.

This teams been chasing the magical season for like 8 years, and the one season they decide to reel it in a bit they actually improve. Selling out and spending big is no guarantee for anything.

Agree

A tell-tale sign that we're going to trade up IMO is if we do these two things:

1. Re-sign Murray
2. Restructure Romos contract

That tells me we're selling out for a Super Bowl or Bust 2015.

Yup. Just ask the Broncos.

Jones' history says he moves. Not sure we covet anyone yet to move up. I would like a move down, in a light at the top weak draft, that is the way to go.

Trading down and maybe out of the first round might be more likely
