I work in healthcare and while I agree with this for the most part, the fact is this is an elected (I say that lightly) official to the highest position of authority not only here in our country but in the world. The people of the US (his employer) have a right to know if the guy is/was reduced to the mental capacity of a turnip. (and he very obviously was)doctor patient confidentiality is a real thing. He has to take that privilege unless Biden agrees to allow him to reveal his medical records. I think this was predictable, and I am sure Republicans knew he would plead the 5th before he came to testify. This privilege can be broken if there is evidence of fraud of some other crime. Remember, the judge in the Trump documents case forced Trump's lawyer to testify in that case even though his lawyer was not a subject or target of the investigations. This was a significant violation of Trump's attorney-client privilege. Another example of a double standard that Republicans allow to exist.
He never should have been in office in the first place, but after the fact he 100% warranted being removed from office. People around him and the media knew this and went to extreme lengths to cover it up.
In this case, the doctor should be forced to testify or face prison himself.
