These players are coached up by agents on what to say in public. "I'm only asking for what is fair". Well, you started out by telling the world you were not looking for top dollar and you turned down a huge amount of guaranteed money.

We could very well bomb on all 4 number 1 picks, but I like the odds. Kahlil Mack didn't really work out for the Bears. Parsons could get hurt tomorrow. There is risk no matter what.

Yes, in an ideal world you'd like a top 5 pick. But the NFL is unpredictable. We've seen many times when teams predicted to go the SB flop. Last year the Niners were thought to be a SB contending team and they were plagued with injuries. Are the Packers immune to that sort of scenario?

We weren't going to trade Micah to the Saints. Why would the Saints do that? The Saints would ideally like to be in a position to take a QB. What are they going to do with Micah?

If we are hoping the Packers somehow fall apart and don't make the playoffs, then we are admitting we do not like the compensation we got for Parsons. We have to face the facts. Picking in the 20s rarely nets a star player. Those players go in the top 10 and after that we have to get lucky. But also consider who is doing the picking. I believe Jerry will treat the two GB picks like he is playing with house money. He will use them to take high risk, high reward type players. What's his trade record on those?

At the same time I don't think we are going to use these picks. I think Jerry will trade them for more picks or for players. I am pretty certain come draft night I will be disappointed.

Ezeiruaku said Micah was teh first Cowboys player to call him and congratulate him after he was drafted by Dallas and Micah took him under his wing. I've heard other players say similar things about Micah. This contradicts the stories about how Micah's podcasts have ticked off his teammates and that he is a bad locker room presence. Jerry is getting lambasted in the media for this trade and the way he negotiates contracts so he is trashing the player in the media to make it look like he had no choice. It is all hog wash. We'll see how the trade turns out but I am sick of all the BS about how we got to this point. Jerry didn't like Micah standing up to him so he ejected him the same way he ejected Jimmy. There can be no doubt who the biggest personality in Dallas is.

Too much evidence to support that Jones was telling the truth about this. None of this is in dispute:

1) Parsons talked for well over a year about not needing to "reset" the market, not having to be the highest paid defender or non QB ever

2) Jones offered him more than that, a deal that at the time was close to the highest paid non QB and most guaranteed money ever. Details of ones' offer (from March or early April are now public knowledge)

3) Parsons verbally accepted the basics of the deal, then reneged after talking to his agent. Who then melted down over Parsons and Jones having a discussion without him present. (Reminder, Parsons is Jones' employee, and the agent works for Parsons)

4) Parsons showed up for camp and refused to participate in practice. Then faked an injury (probably at the advice os his agent) so he could continue to get paid and avoid fines. (something this agent had Jaen Ramsey do a few years ago)

5) Parsons made himself to be a complete turd in his final game here. Eating nachos while walking into the game (out of uniform) and then going to sleep on a table. This was a massive show of disrespect to the coaches, players and fans. Not to mention the front office.

6) Parsons lied about needing a 2nd opinion on the fake back injury, which he got busted on when docs fully cleared him to practice and play and confirmed his MRI was clean.

7) Parsons gets massive new deal in GB, completely resetting the market further (which he said from the beginning he didnt need or want) and then announced "my back is fine I am ready to go"

He's a 100% fucking turd. Jones sucks and has ruined the franchise, but I am not mad at him at all today over how he handled this anymore. Parsons and his agent fucked him. Maybe Parsons just genuinely didn't want to be here I don't know, but the way he went about this was lousy.

I do think there's some evidence to support the Packers were talking to Parsons and his agent for quite some time.

Will be very interesting to see if Jones pursues tampering charges against the Packers, something the league has started to crack down on some in recent years. We could still potentially get another draft pick or two out of this afterall.

We've drafted quite a few really, really good players outside the top-10 and so have plenty of teams.

Just for us off the top of my head there was Dez, Fred, Zack Martin, Cee Dee & Cee Dee. Some of the better teams draft in the 20's (or 30's) almost every yr and stay good, how do they do that? Conversely, plenty of teams CONSTANTLY draft early and never seem to get any better or develop winning consistency.

Parsons himself was not a top-10 player either.

If I had to bet they will absolutely use these picks. Maybe it's part of trade up or trade downs on draft day but I bet they will use them for young talent. Targeting a real franchise QB should 100% be the priority.

Nussmeier's kid was pretty good again last night. He doesnt have ideal height but he does have arm talent and he has improved every yr. Doesn't hurt being son of longtime college and pro offensive coach too.

The Mateer kid at OU looked good albeit against a nobody. Allar played well but Nevada isnt exactly a power either.

Will be interesting to see Carson Beck tonight v Notre Dame. He needs to show his arm is healthy and bounce back from up and down yr last yr (not all his fault, UGA receivers were horrible)
