There is some thought that he could do a "recess appointment", which means he would not need Senate approval. Recess began Friday apparently.

No question if he does this that this kind smells.

The have a recess every year, don't they?

7 or so previous recesses under Obama just bad timing to stage an execution and start to implement your master plan to take over the planet?

Like I said, hopefully its not something like this.

That said, I think the cases they were talking about that were up for consideration this year have a tremendous importance to Obama and his "legacy" (their words, not mine). They also noted that some of these cases have probably already been heard and possibly voted on, but because of Scalia's death would now have to be reconsidered.

LOL at Obama if he nominates Loretta Lynch

Has absolutely ZERO chance of getting confirmed, but he doesn't care. he wants the spin to be the racist anti women Republicans wont confirm her because she is a black woman. (Couldn't possibly be because she is a political idealogue and Obama hack)

Let him appoint who he wants... And make the voters get out and vote a change in parties in the White House. Ginsburg, who will be 83 in March, probably won't last another 8 years on the bench. Who knows about Kennedy (79) and Breyer (77)? The flip side of that coin is Clarence Thomas is 67. If Dems win the white house, they could potentially nominate Scalia's replacement and 4 new justices if they had 8 years.

Ginsberg might be dead now, I don't know how anyone can really tell based on some of those pics

Trump vs. the Pope

I realize that the Pope gave an answer to a reporter's question that Trump didn't like, but I gotta believe it would be far smarter for Trump to try to be diplomatic and turn the other cheek in such a circumstance rather than to counterpunch.

I know that Trump has defied conventional logic with great results previously, but I simply can't imagine that using "disgraceful" in the context of the Pope could possibly work for Trump.

I think the opposite.

America has been more accepting of immigrants than any other country. The fact that the Pope wants to sit behind his walls and lob political liberal grenades, I think that's going to piss a lot of people off. The guy lives surrounded by a wall. What a douche. Americans should be ashamed of the fact that they want borders? Go fuck yoursel, Pope.

Really, I've always been weirded out by Pope's. A little human that wears a dress and people are scared of him and worship him? So weird.

It kind of lends some clarity to what atheists/agnostics think of me believing in God.

I think it's a pretty safe bet anymore that anything Trump does or says, the opposite of what people think will happen, happens.

He's the right mix of "fuck you and I don't care" at just the right time. People are sick of everything normal right now.

Bernie supposedly just took the lead according to some national polls.

As I have said since August, nobody wants to vote for another Clinton or Bush. As I have also said, Bernie is the candidate Republicans shouldn't want to see. His support is from the portion of the democratic group that may not have shown up for Hillary. He will still get the Hillary shills because those people are fucking stupid subservients to the party.

As I think more about it, I think you are correct that it'll help Trump - during most Republican primaries. Part of Trump's appeal seems to be that fed-up/pissed off, irreverent, anti-establishment stance he's taking. The Pope certainly represents one of the most traditional of authority figures.

Another major benefit is that this sort of controversy dominates media coverage. This is another instance of Trump consuming most of the oxygen that's in the room ... making it impossible for guys like Cruz and Rubio to win the news cycle for a few more days.

Clearly there are at least 30 to 40% of Republican primary voters who fit what you are describing.

How many more, who knows?

The longer the scrubs stay in, the better for Trump. If two or three guys don't get out by Super Tuesday, Trump only needs his 30-35% to pretty much wrap this up.

If Bush, Carson, and Kasich drop out after Nevada, Trump could be in a real battle with one or both of the Mexicans.

Cruz should have won SC, maybe he does, I don't know, but if he doesn't show strong there, where else can he win? Maybe he sees the writing on the wall and drops out to stick it to Trump? That would give Rubio a huge shot in the arm.

I just gotta say, whatever you think of Trump, you gotta love the fact that he has destroyed Jebrah Bush.

Cruz is probably going to do well in the south and some of the mid west areas. He'll win Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma. Probably going to win Georgia.

But the nomination looks almost like a sure thing for Trump.

Actually, that would be the total for National Healthcare Expenditures. So, what was spent on everyone by the government, employers, and out of pocket.

Medicare and Medicaid spent over a a little over a trillion dollars in 2014. At the same time out of pocket expenses for individuals were over $300 billion. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky Obama and his buddies running the insurance industry reduced costs. Average family of 4 was promised $2500 a year savings.

Cruz will lose against hildabeast in the general if he makes it. Trump can beat her. Anyone should be able to whip crazy uncle Bernie. Freaking loon wants an additional $41 trillion in new taxes to pay for his socialist nightmare plans.
