Had a classmate from that country after his parents immigrated here and opened a chicken restaurant the food there was fantastic. The kid was long, lean and lanky and I thought he'd make us a football player so I started teaching him the game and the dude was a natural.

He hit the weight room with some of us that summer and swole up some, gaining about ten lbs. (Must have been the delicious chicken we ate a barn full of that summer).

Wound up starting for us at defensive end, he was a Too Tall Jones type of force out there. Two year starter.

Many times. It's an institution in Astoria. It wasn't as good as it was pre-Covid but I still go whenever I'm in town.

And the guy doing the review is a Turk and he knows exactly what he's doing and he's just an overall asshole trying to put the Greek lady on the spot.

I will say the service there has gone a bit downhill but I don't completely fault mom and pop business for not being able to find help. Post Covid destroyed the industry for small business owners while the chains and fast food made money hand over fist.

He knew what he was doing and hoped to get a different response and tried to provoke the old lady and her son (at the end) when they didn't get the initial reaction they hoped for. Fuck him and the rest of his crew. Turks aren't smart enough to fool a Greek.

He didnt have to post the episode showing her in a positive light so even if what you say its accurate, its strikes me as a net good for her and the restaurant

And I'll add something here that might not get talked about and will probably fade off the radar screen in the coming days. These kids were radicalized even though they were young children when their parents became citizens. I was the beneficiary of becoming a citizen when my parents were naturalized. But it was known as a young child that if we committed a crime, we could still lose our citizenship.

When I was growing up, it was important to keep your heritage and customs but also to become a model citizen, get a job, have a family and be productive members of society. That's what most parents, especially immigrants that I knew, wished for their children. The parents of these deviants live in a million dollar home(s) and were the beneficiaries of the opportunities only the USA could offer. I'd denaturalize the parents and throw their sorry asses on a plane and ship them back to wherever they came from. There has to be a deterrent to other immigrant families from these shithole savage Muslim countries or this will just repeat itself.

It's a nice place if you get out to the small villages and the islands. Athens is nice too if you're into history. But the country was devasted when they changed over to the Euro and I'm not sure they ever recovered.

He didn't have to go into a Greek establishment with a Turkish flag on his shirt either but he did it to get a rise out people. He wasn't going to let a day's work go by...he gets paid by the views and he did nothing out of goodwill.

Look, I have no issue with the guy or his hijab wearing whore or his token black guy. I have an issue with the guy's obvious attempt at optics. This is a mom and pop business that's been around for decades and is struggling post Covid just like alot of small business. Review the place if that's your goal and if you don't like something, post it. I'd probably agree with some negative critiques. It's the world we live in. But when the swine went the "racist" angle and went to "investigate" with his props, that's a bridge too far, at least for me.
