I think Maher is fully awake now. He makes too much sense too often not to be. He still mixes in a lot of leftist bullshit but I think most of that is to keep his credibility up with the left.

Patton Oswald is a typical Hollywood liberal living in a bubble, as Maher says, and who is perfectly happy knowing only what he can see and hear in his bubble. He also thinks he is intelligent which means he can't be ignorant - in his mind. Aristotle had a word for it, which escapes me at the moment. He wrote about intelligent people who become dumb willingly because they refuse to accept any facts but those they know and believe to be true. I disagree with Aristotle in the sense that truly intelligent people seek facts and truth. It is called intellectual curiosity. You don't have to be intelligent to ignore the facts. So many liberals fall into this category. They refuse to accept more information that might conflict with what they believe. That's the bubble Maher is talking about. With liberals, they are so determined to remain ignorant, the wish to silence those that are trying to educate them.

Interesting video. "There is none so blind as those who will not see." Of course anyone can throw that line at anyone else just because they disagree on something. It is frustrating when you hit people with facts and they still do not change their minds. I have learned to stop trying. People believe what they want to believe and intellect has nothing to do with it.
Today's liberals have no intellectual curiosity, IMO. and it makes them seen stupid. Maybe they are stupid. How else do you explain AOC being so popular? After all, she is definitely not a bright person.

The question is, did people not help because of indifference or because of fear? I can understand the latter. Who wants to confront a crazed man with a knife or other weapon? Only the bravest of men would do that. But this is an argument for the 2nd amendment. A man carrying a gun could not have stopped the crazy person from killing the girl on the train because it happened too quickly.
Then again, why did not one help her after she was stabbed? I heard there was nothing that could be done for her anyone but still they just let her curl up in a corner and die. Just awful.
