Is there some reason why you cant post the tweet so we can see the context and conversation?

Here's the tweet conversation:

This idea that billionaire businessmen like Musk or Bezos are somehow doing something immoral or illegal is such a distorted view. No one is forced to shop on Amazon. And in the beginning, Amazon actually struggled to survive. But Bezos stuck it out. He stayed committed to his idea and eventually it paid off. Not because he hurt anyone but because he provided a product that people liked. He offered convenience to shoppers at a time when many households have two workers with no time to head to the mall.

Musk is the same kind of entrepreneur. These men, and a number of others, were not born billionaires. They built something that made them billionaires. People use their products of their own free will.

Now let's take a look at the Democrats' favorite billionaires, George Soros and his son. Soros has a history of making money off the misery or misfortune of others. Soros is famous for shorting stocks hoping they fail so he can swoop in and make money off other people's losses. In 2008 he shorted US banks stocks, practically driving some of them into bankruptcy, which would have been an economic calamity for the country. George made billions while the country suffered and the government had to use taxpayer's money to bail out the banks. Of course short-selling is perfectly legal, but Soros took it to a whole new level and never worried about the consequences. And little Soros never produced anything. He is simply the son of a rich man and he lives off dad's money. The Soroses are cynical destroyers while Musk and others are optimistic visionaries who build the future.

This country was built by the likes of Elon Must. Without the industrialists the US never would have become as rich as we are today.

I think ending the filibuster would be an enormous mistake, whoever ends it. It will create chaos with laws coming and going every time the senate majority changes. I understand the feeling that we should change it now, but it won't matter if we do or don't. Whatever Republicans pass now, Democrats will use a simple majority to eliminate when they are in control.

Maybe it seems like the right thing to do now, but that will change if Democrats win the senate. The problem we have in this country is the left controls the schools, media, and courthouses. This was all by design and it took many years to get it done. Republicans have to start thinking long term like that. We need to end the indoctrination of children, balance the media somehow, and start packing the courts with honest judges. To do this we need to play smart and win elections.

But the question is, if Republicans did not think Democrats would end the filibuster, would any Republicans support ending the filibuster? If the answer is no, then why not?

The answer is because it is the wrong thing to do. The filibuster is another check and balance to ensure congress, or one party, cannot do anything to disruptive or destructive to the country with just a small majority.

If Republicans end the filibuster they will pass all the legislation they want or believe is necessary. But if Democrats win a small majority in the Senate and the House they will simply reverse all the laws Republicans put in place when they were in power. There will be nothing Republicans can do to stop them.

Take this budget situations today. Republicans will defund NPR and PBS, Planned Parenthood, illegal aliens health care, Obama care, etc. If Democrats win in 2028, they will put all that back and for 4 years Republicans will be stuck.

The fear is Democrats will end the filibuster themselves and pack the courts, pass laws mandating unsecure voting practices, making PR a state, funding all kinds of liberal causes. etc. But they will do that if they get in power either way. I don't see how it helps Republicans to end the filibuster themselves. This is an argument that Republicans can win. Democrats shut down the government. Make them own it.

And they will, and they would have done it the last time except Manchin and Sinema held out.

Under the way the government SHOULD be run, you are right. The filibuster is there for a very valid reason.

But the government is not run right. There is MASS corruption up there and the vast majority comes for one side. They have politicized the court system and packed courts nationwide with activist leftist judges who dont care one iota about the rule of law or the Constitution.

If there are fair elections where it's nearly impossible to cheat, the Democrats would likely never win power again (especially with their current platform as it is). That's why they need to undo the filibuster now.
