I see a lot of conservative explaining the first amendment as it related to flag burning by making the distinction that you can burn your own flag because it is your property but burning someone else's flag is the destruction of private property and thus, illegal. This, they say, is why doing donuts on a gay pride flag painted on a city street is illegal vs burning your own gay pride flag which is free speech.
Except this misses the point entirely. The problem is, doing donuts on a gay pride flag painted on a city street not only nets out tickets for reckless driving, and destruction of property. You also get his with hate crime charges. It's the hate crime charges that are an infringement on the first amendment. Why aren't there hate crime charges for burning an American flag? You can hate America, but not homosexuality? That's a double standard. Hate is thought. Hate crimes are thought crimes.
Also, why can someone deface a statue, even tear it down and destroy it, but not a gay pride flag painted on a street? Is the statue not also property? How is vandalizing a statue acceptable speech, but vandalizing a gay pride flag is not?
Don't give into the double standards. Hate is abhorrent, but if should be protected by the first amendment.

I don't know how accurate the Twitter/X post is. But I know these kids are getting fucked up with all the weed and drugs they're being pumped for their "transition." Dems use these tragedies to push for gun control but we need to look deeper at the root cause. Drugs are destroying these young people and making them unstable.
