I'm torn on this. I think his stance is asinine and he blew a chance to display the grace, love & mercy that should be the primary focus of his faith but I also believe he has the right to believe whatever he wants
On the other side, why would you want a cake from someone with this stance?
Also, we dont allow people to discriminate (rightly I might add) at restaurants, bars, hotels, etc on the basis of race, right?
So if a diner cannot deny their tasty pancakes to a customer who is black, asian, etc, why is it ok to deny service because they're gay?
Its just a gross, awkward & unnecessarily strident thing to do imo and not a good look for his faith nor what I believe that faith requires of us, ymmv...
IMO, yes. I think the owner of a business should be able to set a standard for his business. People can choose to patronize his business or go somewhere else. I would never turn away business because I think it is stupid to cut your potential market down but that's just me. Freedom is about having choices.Should a black web designer be able to refuse to design a website for the KKK?
